Custer Scores First Truck Win at New Hampshire

It was a highly charged emotional moment when young Cole Custer parked his Chevrolet Truck in the New Hampshire Motor Speedway's victory lane after winning the September 20th UNOH 175. Custer, who started the day by setting the fast time in qualifying, led a race high 148 of the scheduled 175 laps on the way to his first series' win in only seven starts. At 16 years, seven month and 28 days, Custer also became the youngest winner in series' history.

Saldana Scores Second In a Row

SARVER, Pa — - Sept. 20, 2014 - What a difference two days makes. Joey Saldana entered the weekend with a 41-race winless streak hanging over him. Then he won Friday at Eldora Speedway and followed that up with his second win in as many nights and seventh World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series victory of the season after he captured the Commonwealth Clash at Lernerville Speedway on Saturday.

Gaughan Takes the Youngsters to School

The Visit Myrtle Beach Dot Com 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race, held September 19th at the Kentucky Speedway, had all of the makings of becoming rather tedious. This is, of course, said with all due respect to the stellar performance of Ty Dillon. His Chevrolet led a race high 155 of 200 laps and spent much of the evening racing in his own private zip code. Dillon's dominance was, to coin an old broadcast television phrase, "stinking up the show." However, NASCAR racing frequently has a tendency to take things up a notch and produce exciting endings. We saw evidence of that, in the waning laps of this race, when series rookie, and championship points leader, Chase Elliott surfaced and made the concluding laps of this race very exciting.\

Williamson Triumphant In Night Two At Yakima

Another action packed installment of Northwest Extreme Late Model Series action was on tap for the crowd at the Central Washington State Fair Raceway on Saturday September 20th. Twelve entries from the states of Washington and Oregon would be on the registration sheets to battle it out one last time in the 2014 campaign.

Damion Gardner Adds Silver Dollar Speedway

Taking the lead from Mike Spencer on lap sixteen, Concord’s “The Demon” Damion Gardner won the $2,750 Amsoil USAC/CRA Sprint Car feature at Chico’s Silver Dollar Speedway. Gardner swept the third round of the “California Sprint Week,” by setting a new track record, winning his heat race, and claiming his eighth win of the campaign. Bud Kaeding, hard charger Colby Copeland, Brody Roa, and Kevin Thomas Jr. rounded out the top-five drivers.

Citgo Lubricants Late Model Special Event Added

Officials from Kern County Raceway Park have announced a special event for the NASCAR CITGO Lubricants Late Models to be held September 13th at the half-mile speedway. The Saturday Night Showdown will be a 50 lap non-points thriller paying $2000 to win and $300 to start. There will also be drawings for a $500 cash bonus and a set of tires to sweeten the pot.
