Shasta Speedway held two nights of auto racing during the Shasta County Fair and the weekend's activities at the track were sponsored by Taylor Motors. Friday night saw Ryan Peeples of Redding set a new track record in the Napa Late Models and then go on to win his third season feature event. Peeple's record lap of 16.599 seconds beat out the five-year-old time of 16.657 set by Alan Pyszora in April of 2008..: Full Story

Six racing divisions entertained about 3,000 persons Saturday at a Father's Day celebration for dads and their families. Some dads received special prizes during drawings.
