Lady Luck on Drown’s Side at Lubbock

Derek Drown picked off his second ASCS 305-ci Sprint Car feature win of the season by returning to victory lane in Friday night’s 25-lap main event at Lady Luck Speedway, picking up the $1,200 winner’s share in the process. After topping the opening night of March’s Beat the Heat card at Lady Luck Speedway, Drown raced past Preston Peebles II on the eighth round and then sputtered to the line over the final circuits with a fuel cell that was running dangerously dry.

Peterson Wins at Deming Speedway

Three familiar faces and a former Clay Cup champion found victory lane on Friday night at Deming Speedway. With racing sponsored by Jim’s Automotive Experts, Jared Peterson won his first Deming feature in many years in the 600 division, while Clennon Holloway, Austin Sheridan and Sawyer Sorgenfrei became repeat winners on the 2012 campaign.

Lemley Rockets to Big Sky Victory in Great Falls

Tarlton Returns to Ocean Sprints and Wins

2010 Ocean Sprints presented by Taco Bravo champion Tommy Tarlton, in his first 2012 appearance with the division, fended off Fremont's Shane Golobic to lead all 30 laps for the win in Friday night's feature at Ocean Speedway Watsonville. Tarlton is the fourth different winner in four rounds of the Ocean Sprints so far this season and the win came against a 26 car turnout in the pits..

Armed Forces Night at Evergreen May 19

Saturday night May 19 at Evergreen Speedway it will be the annual Armed Forces Night at the Races with all active and reserve military in uniform admitted free. The fast night of racing will feature the Les Schwab Tires NASCAR Street Stocks, Foster Press NASCAR Mini-Stocks, Northwest Pro 4 Truck Tour, Buzz Inn Steakhouse Stinger 8’s and Interstate Batteries Hornets. The spectator gates will open at 4:30 and the racing begins at 6pm.

Travis Brearty Named Series Director For ASCS-NW

This week the American Sprint Car Series-Northwest Region has a new series director with the talent of Travis Brearty taking the helm. Brearty took over the duties of race director for the series last season and enters his sixteenth year of involvement as an official. Travis is notable for his tenure as the longtime flagger for the Northern Sprint Tour as well as the ASCS-Northwest Region.
