Armed Forces Night at Evergreen May 19

Saturday night May 19 at Evergreen Speedway it will be the annual Armed Forces Night at the Races with all active and reserve military in uniform admitted free. The fast night of racing will feature the Les Schwab Tires NASCAR Street Stocks, Foster Press NASCAR Mini-Stocks, Northwest Pro 4 Truck Tour, Buzz Inn Steakhouse Stinger 8’s and Interstate Batteries Hornets. The spectator gates will open at 4:30 and the racing begins at 6pm.

Travis Brearty Named Series Director For ASCS-NW

This week the American Sprint Car Series-Northwest Region has a new series director with the talent of Travis Brearty taking the helm. Brearty took over the duties of race director for the series last season and enters his sixteenth year of involvement as an official. Travis is notable for his tenure as the longtime flagger for the Northern Sprint Tour as well as the ASCS-Northwest Region.

Willamette Speedway Awaits Season Opener Saturday

For fans that have waited for racing to begin at the Willamette Speedway they no longer will have to wait as this Saturday, May 19th, looks to have a fantastic weather forecast as well as a large group of cars racing making the 2012 season opener. After all of the cancelations and rain outs the campaign will begin Saturday and the track has already had one practice under its belt which took place on May 12th. Unfortunately on May 18th the Karts were supposed to open their season up in the infield track but that has been cancelled and will delay the start of their season to Friday June 1st.

NW Wingless Tour Looks For 2012 Debut At Banks

After two consecutive rain outs earlier in the year at the Sunset Speedway Park the Northwest Wingless Tour will makes its third attempt to complete an event there. The touring group has visited the tight cornered bull ring oval on five occasions over the past two years.
