The 21-year-old sensation from Shinnston, W.Va., tuned up for his World Finals showdown with Steve Francis in fine fashion on Thursday night, repelling a late restart challenge from Scott Bloomquist to capture the postponed 50-lap Hungry Man Showdown at The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway.

Scary stuff! It was Halloween Night, Trick or Treat and the Monster Mash all rolled up into a “Halloween Celebration—Night of Destruction” Saturday at Toyota Speedway @ Irwindale. About 4,700 persons assembled in regular and costumed attire and witnessed five wild and crazy events on a warm, full moon night. Uncounted spirits and imagined ghosts and ghouls inhabited the friendly confines of the San Gabriel Valley speed emporium.

MICKEL TO REPRESENT UK AT ASA SOUTH AFRICA EVENT

Team MMI rolled into The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the 2009 Speedfest with fast race cars, determined crews and talented race car drivers, but they left thinking what should have been in both the SRL and Legend car features.Both the SRL #17 driven by David Mayhew and the #17 Legend driven by Dallas Montes appeared headed to victory with fifteen laps to go, but victory eluded both drivers.

KANKE & CALLAHAN TAKE TITLES; COMBS WINS RACE

As the checkered flag fell on the final race of the 2009 Spears SRL Southwest Tour Series, M.K. Kanke and his RPM Motor Sports team were right where they were after the season’s opening race at Roseville’s All-American Speedway, the winner’s circle. Kanke’s season opening win at Roseville, backed up by his win at The Bullring on May 3rd put him in the point lead. That lead he never relinquished as he went on to win his first career touring series championship and was presented the Spears SRL Southwest Tour Series Championship Cup at the conclusion of Saturday night’s “GoLiveStream.TV 154” at The Bullring.
