ALEX HAASE HAD STRONG RUN UNTIL MISHAP

NASCAR TOYOTA ALL STAR SHOWDOWN
Alex came home to compete in the Toyota Showdown in his family owned super late model. He had a great car right out of the trailer and was fastest in the Thursday night practice session. He qualified 2nd fastest with a 17-941 which put him on the outside pole. He was just biding his time as there were a lot of cautions throughout the race. He was able to lead a few laps, and on one of the restarts he had an issue with his shift and that put him back a few spots. He was running 3rd at the time that he was involved in an incident with the 4th place car that put him into the wall and ended both their nights.

UT’S KELSIE HUTH HELPS HOST SOUTH AFRICAN RACE

Participating in the first stock car race in South Africa, Kelsie Huth ’10, Student Government president, flew south of the equator to help ASA Racing with its marketing and logistics.

BACK ON TRACK: STEVE KINSER WINS FINALE OF DIRTCAR

DIRTCAR NATIONALS
Heading into the 2010 season, 20-time World of Outlaws champion Steve Kinser said that he felt better than he had in two or three years, after having off-season surgery to fix a bulging disc in his neck. He started the season off very strong and was in contention for wins in each of the first three races of the 39th Annual Florida DIRTcar Nationals by University of Northwestern Ohio at Volusia Speedway. Kinser sealed the deal on Sunday night, picking up his first win of the season and his first victory since joining Tony Stewart Racing.

DOLLANSKY WINS ALL STAR OPENER

DIRTCAR NATIONALS
Craig Dollansky started up front and he finished there, but in between he had to race like crazy. Dollansky prevailed in a green, white, checker finish at Volusia Speedway Park to win the opening night for the O’Reilly Auto Parts All Stars Circuit of Champions portion of the Dirt Car Nationals.

CRAPO SCORES PODIUM FINISH IN NEW YORK

ISOC AMSOIL CHAMPIONSHIP SNOCROSS SERIES
Leighton Motorsports driver Colby Crapo from St. Anthony, Idaho finally got the proverbial monkey off his back by scoring his first podium finish of the season with a second place effort in the ISOC AMSOIL Championship Snocross Series Eastern National Semi-Pro Super Stock #1 main event. The event from Farmington, NY is the first of three consecutive weekends of racing for the national tour and for Crapo the event is pivotal for his championship hopes. Crapo has been fast all season but bad luck in the feature events has hampered his efforts. His finish tonight will go a long way in turning his season around.

GENE PRICE MOTORSPORTS LATE MODEL RIVER SERIES

HAVASU 95 SPEEDWAY
The Havasu 95 Speedway will treat their fans to a full evening of racing led by the Gene Price Motorsports Late Model River Series this Saturday night, February 6th. The ASA sanctioned speedway, known as the most scenic quarter mile asphalt oval in the southwest, is located within the Sara Park Complex in beautiful Lake Havasu City-Arizona. Also seeing action on this night will be the speedway's legend, bandolero and thunder roadster divisions.
