Doss Shows who’s Boss in Southern Idaho 200

When you’re hot, you’re hot, and Jeremy Doss was definitely the hottest driver at Magic Valley Speedway this weekend. Doss, who set the quick qualifying time and then went on to win Friday night’s Rocky Mountain Challenge Series event, repeated his successes Saturday night.

Shasta Speedway Thrilled Fair-Goers

Shasta Speedway held two nights of auto racing during the Shasta County Fair and the weekend's activities at the track were sponsored by Taylor Motors. Friday night saw Ryan Peeples of Redding set a new track record in the Napa Late Models and then go on to win his third season feature event. Peeple's record lap of 16.599 seconds beat out the five-year-old time of 16.657 set by Alan Pyszora in April of 2008.

Irwindale Speedway Father's Day Racing

Six racing divisions entertained about 3,000 persons Saturday at a Father's Day celebration for dads and their families. Some dads received special prizes during drawings. Total car count was 78 on K & N Filters night. Two divisions—late models and super stocks—used the half-mile, and three classes—legends, mini stocks and bandoleros—raced on the third-mile. Figure 8 cars used the third-mile and infield X intersection.

Bickford Wins 2nd Late Model Race at All American

Napa's James Bickford won his second NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Series race at All American Speedway in Roseville on Saturday night. 15-year old Bickford qualified third, won the Trophy Dash, and then went on to win the 40-lap main event.

Two for Troy In Ventura Sprints

Saturday night June 15 saw another night of exciting short track racing took place at Ventura Raceway. Racing across the board was some of the best seen in the 2013 season. Once again fans and teams were treated to fast and furious racing on Ventura's new red clay track.

Gercham Survives Pressure to Win Lucas Oil Mods

Rocky Mountain Raceways rolled out the red carpet for the Lucas Oil Modified Series presented by LoanMart and the local drivers tried to pull it out from under the tourists. The pull that made the difference, however, was the 8 fast qualifier Michael Hale drew to determine the invert for the starting lineup. That put two-time track champion Hale and five-time titlist Lynn Hardy on the fourth row and the Modified series all-time win leader, Chris Gerchman, on the front row.

Thorn Outmatches Liberante in Return of Pro LM

Bakersfield's Derek Thorn outmatched Palmdale's Race Liberante in the thrilling return of NASCAR Pro Late Models to Kern County Raceway Park on Saturday night, before a crowd of 2,000. NASCAR Spec-Mods and NASCAR Mini Stocks were also in action in the all-stockcar show at the brand-new half-mile and quarter-mile speedways.
