Action Heats Up at Magic Valley Speedway

The Northwest Pro4 Alliance brought 27 cars to MVS for the Project Filter 100. 20 started the feature with two transferring in from the B-Main. Trouble started early after contact on the first lap. A restart proved much better and the race was led by 2010 race winner Bud Rumsey.

Saturday night was full of hard charging racing action in the all divisions during Mikes Hard Lemonade night at the races. During opening ceremonies all of the branches of the Armed Forces were honored for their service to our country.

15-year old Jeremy Doss Schools RMCS Field

Rocky Mountain Challenge Series
For the second time this season, Jeremy Doss from Upper Lake, CA was triumphant in the CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series. Doss started 15th on the grid and methodically worked his way to the front by lap 65 at Meridian (ID) Speedway to claim the victory in the fourth annual NAPA Auto Parts Treasure Valley "100". Numerous caution flags slowed the action on the tight and tricky quarter-mile paved oval but nothing seemed to rattle the youngster as he was clearly the class of the field. Following Doss to the line was Craig Bell who made his first start of the season and led most of the first half of the race. Bruce Quale finished third after having to make several pit stops for repairs due to an incident early in the event.

Sisk and Chambers conquer Yakima Speedway

West Valley High School student, Garrett Sisk and fellow youngster Casey Chambers earned their first career main victories at Yakima Speedway as the duo put together strong runs all night for their big payoff in the Burger Ranch Sportsman and CWI Security/EZ Credit Auto Sales Hornet divisions respectively. Others picking up main event victories included Josh Aguirre, Cody Denton and Chris Marang.

Maverick Modified Double-Main Packs RMR Stands

Rocky Mountain Raceways
Utah race fans turned out in full force to see the Maverik Modifieds Double Main at Rocky Mountain Raceways, an ASA Member Track. The Maverik Modifieds kicked off the night of racing with a fifty-lap main event. #50 Roger Wilson and #01 Michael Hale battled for first; Wilson took the win after beating Hale on an outside restart in lap forty-five. Hale came in second, #4 Lynn Hardy came in third, #84 Mark Ith Jr. in fourth and #00 Tyler Whetstone rounded out the top five.

On a perfect sun drenched Saturday night at Skagit Speedway Chad Hillier (410 Sprints), Kelsey Carpenter (360 Sprints), Tyler Fox (Sportsman Sprints) and Rick Young (Outlaw Hornets) found victory lane in the Foothills Toyota Tundra Racing Series.

The California kid must be in absolute love with Idaho. Jeremy Doss, a 15-year-old race-car driver from Upper Lake, Calif., made it 2-for-2 on the state’s racetracks with an impressive victory in the NAPA Auto Parts Treasure Valley 100 on Saturday night at ASA-sanctioned Meridian Speedway.
