Rules Released for Star Grand American Modifieds

The response from racers interested in racing the Star Grand American Modified series at Stockton 99 Speedway has been very strong. Lopez leads SCORE Trophy Truck

Moving out from the shadow of his father and his uncle’s experienced tracks, Southern California desert racer Cody Parkhouse has assumed the SCORE overall and unlimited Class 1 point lead after the first two rounds of the five-race 2012 SCORE Desert Series. With the season’s last three races all to be run in Baja, Mexico, Cody Parkhouse, 24 of Long Beach, Calif., opened the season at the SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge in mid-January by finishing second in the first round and winning the second in a Chevy-powered Jimco open-wheeled desert race car the following day.

Gaylord Wins National Talent Search

The annual talent search known as The Shoot-Out always sorts out the top talented young drivers from across the nation. Making the Shoot-Out is an honor in itself. Winning the Shoot-Out and earning a spot in Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle driver development program, along with big sponsorship dollars, is the goal. In the previous year’s Shoot-Out 14 of the 933 drivers that applied made the cut. This year only 9 super talented young drivers won spots from the 965 applicants for the RSWC program and Star Racing Supply sponsorship dollars. “We had slightly more apply for 2012, however we were simply more selective in this year’s Shoot-Out,” stated RSWC Owner Ron Sutton.

HAVASU 95 TO PRESENT A FULL WINTER SCHEDULE

The Havasu 95 Speedway will open its spectator gates this Saturday, January 21st, for the latest round of their winter racing season. The ASA sanctioned quarter mile paved oval, located within the Sara Park complex in Lake Havasu City-Arizona, will present action from the Gene Price Motorsports Late Model River Series, the Gene Price Motorsports I Love Legends Series, the Sam Nichols Electrical Inc Bandoleros, the Factory Stocks and the Goose Janitorial Supply Team Factory Stocks.
