Three NASCAR Track Champs Crowned

David Mayhew saved his best race for last, scoring an exciting win in the 75 lap NASCAR Pro Late Model division season finale to win the series championship to cap Faith & Family Night on Saturday at Kern County Raceway Park. Other champions crowned included Chris Dalton in his second consecutive Spec Mod title while Randy Smith claimed the NASCAR Mini Stock championship.

STEVIE SUSSEX WINS HANK ARNOLD MEMORIAL AT CANYON

Leading all 30-laps, Tempe’s Stevie Sussex won Saturday’s “Hank Arnold Memorial” at Canyon Speedway Park. The $1,500 triumph was the first USAC SouthWest Sprint Car victory of his career. “The Magic Man: Mike Martin, Matt Rossi, “Chargin” Charles Davis Jr., and Josh Pelkey rounded out the top-five drivers.

Southwest Sprints at Queen Creek November 1

R.J. Johnson's pursuit of the 2014 USAC Southwest Sprint Car championship will resume November 1 with an appearance at Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Ariz. He emerged from last Saturday night's race at Peoria, Ariz. with a 116-point margin over Josh Pelkey in the new standings.
