The National Motorsports Final Appeals Officer — Mr. Bryan Moss, heard and considered the appeal of driver Kurt Busch. The penalty concerns Section 12.1.a: Actions detrimental to stock car racing; 12.8: Behavioral penalty The penalty stems from activities last year involving Kurt Busch that resulted in a decision by the Family Court of the State of Delaware to issue an Order of Protection of Abuse against him.

DJ Safety ROY Competition Will Highlight 2015

This year, it will pay to be a rookie in the Lucas Oil Modified Series presented by LoanMart. Series promoter Greg Scheidecker and representatives of DJ Safety, a series sponsor since the inaugural 2006 season, are pleased to announce the creation of the DJ Safety Rookie of the Year program, which will reward the series’ leading first-year driver with a prize package worth in excess of $3,000.

Tri-Track Series Headed to Spokane County

he Tri-Track Super Late Model Series has added the high banked half-mile of Spokane County’s Super Oval to its 2015 schedule. Set for August 29th, the I-90 Challenge will be the first trip for the TTSLS to Spokane in series history. Spokane County Super Oval came under new management in December and the group approached the TTSLS with a request to be added to the upcoming schedule. Spokane County Super Oval joins Wenatchee Valley Super Oval, Yakima Speedway, StateLine Speedway and Evergreen Speedway as series stops for in 2015.

Gilliland Racing Expands with Driver Development

David Gilliland Racing (DGR) is capping its successful 2014 season with the announcement of an expansion. The Mooresville, N.C.-based team now offers a driver development program that will field a second car for the 2015 season in Late Model and Super Late Model competition. DGR is seeking young, up-and-coming talent to join the program.
