Travis Pastrana knows a lot about going fast and jumping into, onto and over things. He’s been an extreme sports icon since he was 15 and celebrated winning a gold medal at the 1999 X Games by soaring about 100 feet in the air off the end of Pier 30 and landing in San Francisco Bay.

Hiroshima Wins Nmra-Tq Bakersfield Speedway Main

TQ midget owner/driver Bruce Hiroshima, a 51-year old from Camarillo, started from pole position and led all 25 laps of the NMRA-TQ feature Saturday at the third-mile clay Bakersfield Speedway in a multi-division event. Ten TQs raced in the second event this season for the Moorpark-based group. The winning time in an all-green flag race was a rapid six minutes and 19 seconds.

NASCAR Names Two New Hires

NASCAR announced two new hires today as part of the company’s commitment to implementing strategic growth plans for several critical segments, including youth, millennial and multicultural. Peter Jung joins NASCAR as Senior Director of Growth Segment Marketing, reporting into Managing Director of Brand and Consumer Marketing Kenny Mitchell. Jung, most recently from MasterCard International, served as vice president of global consumer marketing, responsible for youth segment strategies and programs designed to drive a greater preference for the MasterCard brand. In this role, he oversaw the delivery of global consumer insights, innovation and marketing plans that supported youth segment priorities in the U.S. and several international markets.

4th Annual Canyon Clash on Tap for USAC SW Sprints

This Saturday, April 26th, the popular USAC SouthWest Sprint Car Series will return to Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria. Promoted by Kevin Montgomery, the “4th Annual Canyon Clash” will also showcase Mini Sprints, Pure Stocks, and AMA Modlites. The Front Gates will open at 5:00pm with Racing scheduled to begin at 7:00pm. The facility will also host an open practice session on Wednesday night from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.

WC & Classic Sprints at Kings & Thunderbowl

USAC's West Coast and Western Classic Sprint cars combine for this weekend's back-to-back races at Kings Speedway in Hanford, Calif. and Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif. Friday's race at Hanford is the second of six slated this year at the 3/8-mile dirt track which hosted the West Coast Sprints in March. The race is the "Verne Brasel Classic."

Travis Irving, Ryan Partride Take LOLM Twins

Travis Irving won his first feature since 2011 and Ryan Partridge took his third of the season in the Lucas Oil Late Model Twins at Irwindale Speedway on Saturday night before 3,823 spectators. Irving broke Partridge’s three-race winning streak in the Lucas Oil Late Models in the second feature. The 28-year-old from Corona, Calif., led all 30 laps on the half-mile track to finish 1.390 seconds in front of runner-up Cole Custer of Ladera Ranch, Calif. Partridge, from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., finished third.

Coca Cola Night Sees Six Different Winners at Kern

Coca Cola Night at Kern County Raceway Park saw a diverse mix of races with David Mayhew storming to a convincing win in the NASCAR Pro Late Models while the inaugural race for the 911 Racing Series went to Detective Josh Stephens of Shafter Police Department.
