Havasu 95 Speedway to Open Winter Racing Season

There's a lot of very happy racing fans in the area of Lake Havasu City-Arizona. That's because the winter racing season, at the Havasu 95 Speedway, officially opens this Saturday night, October 4th. The quarter mile paved oval is located within the Sara Park complex. The racing will receive the green flag at 7pm.

Celebrity Race Night @ Irwindale Speedway

Ten actors and a Canadian billionaire raced S2 Cars in a pair of ten-lap heat races and 20-lap feature on the half-mile Irwindale Speedway Saturday. Celebrity Race Night presented by Justice Brothers and DJ Safety benefited the Wounded Warriors Project®. Celebrities raced tube-framed, fiberglass-bodied NASCAR stock cars powered by 400-horsepower V-8 engines. MMA fighter/former UFC champion Tito Ortiz was the celebrity race grand marshal and honorary starter.

Rookie Points Leader Dominates Modified 100-Lapper

Dylan Cappello’s first win was memorable. His second was even better. The 18-year-old from Peoria, Arizona, said it was “awesome,” and that’s an accurate description. Cappello, a rookie in the Lucas Oil Modified Series presented by LoanMart, dominated the Next Era Energy 100 presented by Sunoco Fuel at Lucas Oil I-10 Speedway Saturday night (September 27) by leading 82 of 100 laps on the tight quarter-mile oval and never facing a challenge en route to his second victory in a row and a tighter hold on the Hoosier Tire West championship points lead with two races remaining.

Philpot Wins Final NSMS Event

A record high 24 modifieds were in attendance at the final North State Modified Series event at All American Speedway Saturday night with Jason Philpot of Sacramento leading wire to wire to claim the $1000 first-place prize over Nick Lyons of Loomis, Darrin Knight of Kelseyville, Michael Morrison Jr. of Redding and Keegon Walmer of Roseville in the Regional Builders Inc. sponsored feature event. Finishing eighth, Jay Linstroth of Citrus Heights chalked up enough points to clinch the 2014 NSMS championship in the series' inaugural season.

Custer Scores First Truck Win at New Hampshire

It was a highly charged emotional moment when young Cole Custer parked his Chevrolet Truck in the New Hampshire Motor Speedway's victory lane after winning the September 20th UNOH 175. Custer, who started the day by setting the fast time in qualifying, led a race high 148 of the scheduled 175 laps on the way to his first series' win in only seven starts. At 16 years, seven month and 28 days, Custer also became the youngest winner in series' history.

Saldana Scores Second In a Row

SARVER, Pa — - Sept. 20, 2014 - What a difference two days makes. Joey Saldana entered the weekend with a 41-race winless streak hanging over him. Then he won Friday at Eldora Speedway and followed that up with his second win in as many nights and seventh World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series victory of the season after he captured the Commonwealth Clash at Lernerville Speedway on Saturday.
