so maybe joey isnt as good as they thought. cousin carl might be the new driver.i hope not i like him in the aflac 99.

there are only so many kyle's,kevins, carl's, jeff's, tony's, denny's, jimmy's... etc. cup takes a very special talent.....only so many come along......joey has shown big improvement the last 5 or so races.....maybe the whole year.....I'm sure home depot would like to have a super star representing them, that could be 1/2 the issue.

$$$$ talks so i guess carl will do whats best for carl, cant blame him. i can see home depots view also joey just dont look like the home improvment kind of guy/kid.time will tell.

JGR is a fantastic place to work / drive for. The Gibbs treat everyone in their organization like family. They say they are Christians and they live the part of Christians.

Roush Fenway is also a great place to work and drive for.

I honestly believe that there is NO WAY IN THIS WORLD that Carl Edwards is leaving Roush Fenway. Even is he asks for more money than Roush is willing to pay him, Ford will come to the rescue and make up the differance.

If Ford lets another Top driver slip away to a rival car company, I would be shocked.

Ford has lost the following TOP drivers to rival car manufacturers over the last 20 years:

Jeff Gordon
Kurt Busch
Kyle Busch
Joey Logano
Kasey Kahne

There is NO WAY they can let a driver of Carl Edwards caliper go. No way.

Ford LOVES Carl Edwards, and so does the media. He is a fantastic spokesperson. ALL of the networks racing shows want him on their shows for an interview. He usually always says the right things when a camera or microphone if stuffed in his face, even when it happens immediately after the race is over, and no matter what type of mood he is in.

Carl has done some dumbass things off-camera, like what he did at Martinsville to Kenseth on pit road a few years ago. And what he did to Harvick in the garage area a few years ago.

If Ford lets Carl leave and go to Toyota, Dodge, or Cghevy; it would add to their long list of blunders relating to Top drivers in NASCAR.

Hell, they paid for marcos Ambrose to leave JTG and go to Petty. Is they were willing to spend money to do that, they will spend money to keep Carl Edwards.

Look what Chevrolet and GM did in paying JGR to release Tony Stewart from the final year of his contract. I believe that Ford will pay Carl whatever money he wants to stay at Roush and drive a Ford, as long as it's reasonable.

If he leaves roush i will be shocked but hey $ talks and bs walks. i dont think jack is going to let him go any where any time soon, if someone needs to go at roush its kenseth or ragen. we'll see soon.

It will not shock me at all if Edwards were to leave Roush. It would be more of a shock if there was nothing Ford could do to keep him there. I also wish if he were to leave Roush he would go to a Chevy team instead of Toyota. Just a personal opinion. Im a Chevy Girl
Also curious what people think would be Logano's fate? 4th JGR car? Another team? And who?

yea if he does go i hope its to chevy also we'll soon see,as far as joey. well it will be interesting to see how much he thinks hes worth and who would pay it??? silly season already now thats just plain silly

What about the stupid things Edwards has done behind the wheel? Like deliberately dumping Keselowski at 190 mph into the Talldega catch fence?

The crazy thing about that whole deal was when they interviewed Carl immediately after the his wreck in the garage, he said that it wasn't Brad's fault. I believe he said that Joey kind of forced the issue, and that Carl didn't blame Brad for him getting into the wall, and that he wasn't mad at Brad.

Then, after he spends an hour or so in the garage waiting for his car to be repaired, he has this Epiffany and goes out and tried to kill Brad and almost puts him in the grandstands.

When they interviewed him after he flipped Brad, Carl says that he was "doing it for My Guys".

Man, that was some serious dual/split personality stuff right there!

Sounds good. How far of a drive is Seattle airport from the track in Spokane?

Me and a friend are thinking about flying into Seattle and driving to Spokane. Would love to have a beer & BBQ with you. I'll buy! BUT ONLY IF IT'S GOOD BBQ!

hey duke its about a 5 hr drive from seattle to spokane ive done it in 4 but thats speeding a little john force likes the longhorn bbq when hes been in town, me and the wife are going to the west race she has never been to a nascar race so it should be fun hope to see ya there..drive carefull

Is the track at Spokane anything like the track at Colorado National? That is a great race track. I loved it the minute I saw it. Colorado lends itself to great three wide racing. Passing on the outsideis common at Colorado National.

i dont know i have never seen the colorado track,SCR has good 2 wide racin but three means body work for the crews..its got dirt walls in the corners and down the back shoot, gary bentinhausen drove a super mod up here years ago in a usac race and it kind of scared him.its super fast but the dirt banks are hell on a car ( lost two of them testing years ago)..youd have to see it to understand it..but its fast.

Yeah, I do remember all that stuff. Along with a bunch of other people, I'll bet. Yeah, there's emotions in racing, as there should be, but there's a right way and a wrong way to display it, and Edwards has become an expert at the wrong way to display it. Just my opinion though, and some may argue with it.

Yeah, there's emotions in racing, as there should be, but there's a right way and a wrong way to display it, and Edwards has become an expert at the wrong way to display it. Just my opinion though, and some may argue with it.

I agree with you 100%. But it seams that Edwards has perfected the right way to respond: WHEN HE KNOWS THE CAMERAS ARE ON HIM.
The times that he hasn't acted appropriately were when he DIDN'T KNOW the Cameras were on him.

Makes you wonder "Who" the "Real" Carl Edwards is?

But, the TV networks, the sponsors, and Ford absolutely LOVE him. Or at least they love the "Camera Carl" version!
