The runner-up finish for Sammy Potashnick at Monroe was a career-best in the series for the driver from Sikeston, Mo. His previous best was a third-place finish last season at Rocky Mountain Raceways near
Salt Lake City, Utah.
John Metcalf of Aurora, Colo., also had the best finish of his career in the series - crossing the finish line in fourth place. His previous best finish was fifth, which he had accomplished twice.
With his fast qualifying time, series rookie Jeff Jefferson of Naches, Wash., snagged his second consecutive Bud Pole Award and became the first driver in the series with two poles this season.
Rick Bogart of El Cajon, Calif., was fifth fastest in time trials at Monroe - a career-best qualifying effort for the 25-year-old series rookie.
