Mission Valley Speedway will be open for the 2011 Racing Season.

I can safely say that the rumors can stop now. Mission Mountain Motorsports now has the lease of the speedway through the 2011 racing season. We did have to pay the back payments of the MVAR lease and acquire 3 million dollars in insurance to obtain the lease. (among other things) We are getting a late start on the racing season and it will be difficult to put together a decent schedule for the year without the help from sponsors that we missed out on. (we should have had them before the first of the year) We have been trying to get this deal done for 3 months now but have had a lot of resistance from people who would rather see the track dug up than to have us run it. The tracks facilities are in need of major repairs before we can open the gates. (bathrooms and concessions). They will be fixed before we start our racing season!

MVAR still owes the Bank close to $40,000.00 and the payments are current. It is not behind. We at Mission Mountain Motorsports will do our best to help the auto racers get it paid with their help. We are not obligated to do this but it is in the best interest of the community and the racers to get this paid. (We may want to borrow money ourselves someday)

MVAR lost their lease due to not paying the lease payments or the insurance. ($15,000.00 behind on the insurance)

We will post a schedule as soon as we can. It has been very hard to talk to sponsors when we did not know for sure if we were going to be able to open the track. I know if everyone sticks together and supports racing in the Mission Valley we will succeed , get our bills paid and go back to HAVING FUN ! ! !

Time to get busy.

We have put this meeting together to get the classes signed up. We have asked that the reps for each class bring us a car count of atleast 5 cars to get on the schedule. Right now we have a large number of Limited Latemodels and compacts signed up. I believe the Bombers have shown some interest to get on the schedule also but that is it. The Mod 4s only want 1 race. We have 6 races scheduled so far. ( 6 weekends ) If more classes come forward with atleast 5 cars we will expand the schedule.

If you give the mod4 s a race, they will have a few extra cars. A few of us would like to come over to support them but we would like to talk about it first. Would you be willing to listen? If so my name is Lonnie Stocker president of the super4 Modifieds.I can be reached at 1-208-755-7972

Check out our site. super4modifieds.com.

We are just starting out. Thanks

Don: Don't know if you guys are interested in having the Legends there or not but the last time I talked with most all the drivers that raced MRP, they DO NOT want to return there and wanted to race MVS. For obvious reasons I have not worked on this for quite a while or even know if we are racing at all. With my present position, I can honestly say I will not have time to pursue this, but I have all the names and numbers for the guys I talked with. If anybody in your group would like them, feel free to contact me and I will provide you with what I have. Also included possible class sponsorships. Good luck with your endeavor.

i hear the limited super stocks are running a restrictor plate and anything else you want to bring as long as it is under 360 cu in with a 2bbl. does this mean any engine combination you want ,roller cam any compression ect?

This class is a restrictor plate class. Should be right around 480 cfm. Must have flat top pistons. Must represent the class of racing that you come from like if you normally race ICAR. You have to follow their rules except for adding the plate and 500 cfm 2 bbl carb. All cars must weigh 2900 pounds, 57% left side weight and run our tires. You can't build a "restrictor plate high compression roller cam type engine" Why would you? Just to win a trophy? The intent is to equal the field not out spend and/or take advantage of the loopholes in the rules. With that said if you show up with a new full fab car, coil overs, aluminum heads, dry sump, jerico tranny and Nutter engine I would say be prepared to get a smaller restrictor plate. We don't claim that these rules are perfect and you may think that they are too simple but we have to start somewhere. If you want to race and have fun you should give it a try.

Last year at MVSW I saw some of the best superstock racing that I have seen ever there. With everything else going on there, why are you changing the rules at this point? You are cutting your owe throat. The same people will still be in the same place. Some have more knowledge than others and experience. This is my opinion. You have people changing motors now to run a restricter plate. Leave the rules alone and go have some fun with out spending more money.AnnoyedAnnoyedAnnoyed

Pablo's rule book and structure last year proved to be very competitive, I think changing the rules is a bad idea also. There were a couple small changes that needed to be addressed, like the 602 crate cars need a 4 bbl with no restrictor and at least a 100 lbs weight break (per mrp rulebook)to be competitive.
This may be the last chance to keep this track open for the long haul. I hope the new management realizes this and takes this into account.

I will be the first to admitt, I do not know everything. First question, How does a retrictor plate slow down agood car in a corner?? Second question, How does a retrictor plate speed up a car that is not set up to go around a corner up to speed??? You have out of town cars coming to race for a good show, make your rule change to fit the people that are willing to come and help put a great show on. Adopt kalispel rules so people will travel where they like to race. MVSW is alot more fun as a driver. Making the rules the same will bennefit BOTH tracks. Just my opinion, like to see a 15 plus car race. Three different groups racing in one was awsome last year.SmileSmile

With a restrictor plate - the more compression the better, you can run stupid compression and make up for the restrictor somewhat - the flattop rule will help but you might want to limit milled heads also -

there is no flat top rule the only rule is under 360 cu in, 4412 2bbl with a 1.5 restrictor plate,2900 lbs 57 left. leaves it open for all cars to run.Probably will bring a lot of us washington cars over. you are right on the 9.5 to 1 and using the cam for dynamic compression but static compression is easily changed.

I want to know why would a track change rules for 5 cars when u have around 20 cars that are willing to bring there cars out and race by the rules that have been presented to everybody? To me that shows in consistency to racers that want to come play. Then u have 5 of the other racers mad because u change the rules to make the other 5 happy! So there for all a promoter or track management can do is set some rules and inforce them. Annoyed
