Just a note to those who have asked to be informed on Tyler's racing endovers. Tyler will be running the Martinsville Camping World Truck race on October 29th. He will test at I-44 Speedway in Missouri on October 14th. We appreciate all the support and feedback from our NW friends and fellow racers.

I am Happy as Hell that he is getting to do this but WOW it seems soon.
I trust Kelly but it just seems awfully early to be doing this to him without even being in a West Car or on many bigger tracks.

Martinsville is not a big track...lol Not even close to as fast as SCR.

I think what Budah was alluding to was the fact that driving a 3500lb, 700ish HP, Camping World Series truck on radial tires is ALOT different than a 2900lb latemodel on bias ply tires.

I will be at the Fall Classic as a spectator on Saturday and Sunday. As you know it was my first major event win and one of my best paydays in auto racing so it holds a very special place in my career. I recall the Fall Classic when Kenny Frank of Franks Chevrolet was the sponsor, we had a golf tournement [which Ron Eaton teed his ball in the fairway] LOL!! and guys like Jack jeffery, Harry Jefferson and many other greats were ther to enjoy the events.

As far as Tyler racing in the Truck series prior to the West it is very clear in my mind. I was a nobody who bought a car from Pettys in 1998 and went from Tuscon to Phoenix to Vegas then to California which was a two mile speedway. It in reality is all what you make it and how savey you are. I will say Tyler is a far superior driver to what his father ever was and with some luck will make it his career. As parents Leanne and I have placed alot of criteria on him as a person such as grades at ASU and his qualities as a person. If we had any doubt we would not let this be a consideration. What we do know is in that one and a million chance he does make it he will be the best represenative we have ever had from the Northwest!

Thanks to all his supporters and only time will tell.

I don't know about him being a "far superior driver" than his father. When I worked as an ASA official I was always impressed with Kelly as a driver and I always listened to what input you might have had for us. I can say this, with Kelly and Leanne as parents I'm sure that Tyler will do fine. Go Tyler!

Supreme driving talent along with his marketability should take him a long ways. The way he worked with his sponsors all year long was awesome.

First class group from mother, father right down to Tyler. Don't shortchange yourself Kelly by any means!

Oh really mr pootrack, nothing against the kid and good luck to him but really what has he done in a late model that makes him so much better than half the other late model drivers out there, yes he has made a respectable showing at South Sound but PLEASE tell me why everyone thinks he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. As usual he's a young kid with the financial backing and equipment and publicity to get a ride for a company that bought out his Dad's business and I believe still works for. Like I said good luck to the kid, BUT "ten times better" than the other two locals, just who are you referring too.
