#1 fever four -roadrunner ?
jds70 Posts: 45 02/11/2012 2:50 PM	why 2 classes of mustangs? why not keep fever fours mustangs and make roadrunners front wheel drive only? as a fan it would really make the classes diferrent. maybe it's just me but from the stands if you get 18 cars on the track you dont notice a time difference in the classes. i know another stupid rule change and bad idea so i'll just shutup now. thanks for reading Jerry

low22 Posts: 248 02/11/2012 5:15 PM	Roadrunners used to be about a 50\50 split out of 70 cars. For a while we had probes, escorts, several saturns, civics and cavaliers. There's just a select few left, but then again there are only 20 or so cars left.

In 2009 for example: 3 civics, 2 storms, 3 saturns, sunfire, 2 escorts, probe, 2 cavaliers, 2 colts, subaru, prelude, 2 accords, sentra, stanza, 2 mazdas, grand am... that's all I can think of right now. So 25+ out of 70

Last year we had my probe, 2 escorts, 2 civics, mazda, saturn and a subaru. 8 out of 20ish. They're out there, and it probably wouldn't take long to get em going again.

Wonder what it would take to weaken the rules in the fevers, considering they finished 2011 with 7 cars, 2 of which have moved up this year.

If u say well u built a rwd so ur a fever then that's wrong because now ur limiting the choice and or the wherewithal of alot of racers.most of u use what we have or whatever we can get a hold of if u start limiting cars to this class or that class , the u can expect car count to decline

Plus it's getting harder to find good Mustangs anymore. The other problem with puting most of the fwd Roadrunners into Fevers is no fuel injection. I would hate to see someone try to convert a Probe to carburation without a fat bankroll.

No it doesn't have anything to do with rules, I was just telling Bart they make up about 40% of the class. There are many reasons the count went from 70 to 20, but that's on another thread.

I couldn't imagine swapping to carb on either of my roadrunners. I think it'd be cheaper making autocross cars out of them.

I don't think it takes much to change from fuel injected to carburation... I know of several of the Honda powered cars in the NW Pro 4 alliance with home made intake manifolds to adapt to a holley carb... Or they run Mukuni's... It would be easy to do away with the fuel injection, but there again you would have to modify the carb rule to do it... If your trying to hold the rules equal then it would be opening a can of worms all over again ie: the RR's and RR Pros....

low22 Posts: 248 02/15/2012 8:35 PM	If they strictly enforce the roadrunner rules, I think quite a few of the mustangs will move up.... Maybe even a few FWDs. With so many drivers choosing to run SCR this season it'll be interesting to see what they do in attempt to win the drivers back.

A bigger purse would help. but that is not the issue with car count. Cars left because guys didn't want to compete againt cars that were being allowed to run that didn't conform to the rules and nothing was done about it. Enforce the rules and things will change. Enforcing the rules is not that big of an issue if you have the right set of ....s and stick to your word.
