Here is what we have going on for 2012!

SCR will be putting on the Dr. Pepper Super Late Model series again this season. There will be 4 races and we will be crowning a champion:

June 2nd (100 laps)
June 30th (100 laps)
July 28th (100 laps)
August 25th (200 laps)

While these races count towards the INSSA point standings, you do not have to purchase an INSSA membership to race them. There is no membership or insurance fees to race at SCR.

Here is the payout for the 100 lap races at SCR:
1st $3000
2nd $2000
3rd $1250
4th $750
5th-15th $500
16th-40th $400

Here is the payout for the Spokane 200
1st $10000
2nd $5000
3rd $2500
4th $1250
5th-15th $1000
16th-40th $750

We are also doing a tire incentive program for the 2012 Dr. Pepper Super Late Model Events. The top 5 finishers will receive free tires to the next event:
1st place: 4 Free Tires
2nd Place: 2 Free Tires
3rd-5th Place: 1 Free Tire

I will be at the INNSA meeting to give out info about SCR but if you cannot make it and have questions please direct any questions that you may have to brycentarr@gmail.com

I like the tire incentive, just another way SCR is raising the bar. Thank you for giving back to the racers. We are looking forward to a great year of racing.

Thats a nice deal for the winner, but the guy running 10th and back usually are the ones who haven't the funds to buy new tires every week.To bad there wasn't a drawing for tires, the little guy might get a break for once. Just my two cents.

It's great what they are doing but I'd much rather see the guy's further back get the tires rather than the ones who show up with three sets allready. 10th place does get $500 in a race that costs about $1000 to run.

It would make alot more sense to draw out of a hat a ticket for four tires, one for two tires, and three for one tire the night of the race on the condition that you show up for the next race, if the reason is to get returning cars, you know the top three are probably going to be back and it is definetly an incentive for the guys riding the fence as to wether or not they can afford to come back if they know there are tires waiting for them, besides the fact that someone who had a bad night might get four tires out of the deal and not have it be a total bust. Something to think about rather than just pad the bank accounts of the guys who probably don't need it.

Why does some asshole always have to bitch about a great program ??? They are paying good money and giving away tires, that's awesome !!! If your running in the back and can't afford tires then sell your late model and buy a hornet so you can afford to race !! Great job SCR !!!

Great point! A good way to keep the count up and this could be a lesson for other tracks too. When all is said and done, SCR still leads the pack as a fan and driver favorite.

I'm not bitching about it asswipe, just suggesting a far more effective way of doing it - if you were smart enough to read and comprehend what I was saying you would have realized that - especially since the very first thing I said was that it was a great deal.

I'm with wasscopecotrain on this one, leave it the way it is.

I see nothing wrong with rewarding first place the most, IMO, that's how it should be but if it makes you feel better maybe they could give out "Participation" ribbons for everyone who doesn't get a trophy. Big Grin

There was quite a riff this winter when people found out that Larry was giving free tires and fuel to the "big name" drivers last year as an incentive to get them to show up - this is basically the same thing only up front - Everything that SCR has done and is continuing to do is fantastic compared to other promoters - that is why I will be fielding cars in 5 different classes this year. But what has to be realized is if you keep giving the top dogs the bone, pretty soon the little ones will go play in someone else's sandbox where they might be able to get one. How many people do you really think made their decision on wether or not to go watch a race solely on wether or not Gary Lewis was going to be there? truth be known - probably only his family members. Don't you think that they are allready rewarding first place the most enough by giving them $3000?

I agree 100% , SCR is the BEST thing going in the Northwest in 20 years , for fans , racers and sponsors its a win/win. Anytime a local track trys to improve racing around here all the "Bitch-Birds" come out of the woodwork

If you want to race for $500 to win and not have a good time doing it , im sure SouthSound will be more than happy to add you to their 6 car count shows. SCR Proved last year that with the right promoting racing in the NW can work...its called Give a little to get a lot.

I'm not going to get into a pissing match over it, was just simply suggesting what I thought was a more effective way of going distributing those tires if the end result they were looking for was to get cars to their track on a continuous basis. If I were trying to decide where to spend a limited racing budget knowing I probably wouldn't be in the top 5 - the possibility of winning a set of tires would definetly weigh heavily on that decision. As for myself, I've never gone to a race that I didn't think I had a chance of winning so let the tires fall where they mayBig Grin in the immortal words of Ricky Bobby's dad - second place is just the first loser. No matter how you look at it - the Tarrs and SCR are the best thing to ever happen to racing in the northwest and they continue to prove that daily!

Ron, It's probably the front runners that made comments because you were suggesting they would lose the free tires.

The guy that said sell your late model and go by a hornet. If all the backmarkers did that there wouldn't be much of a class to go watch.Sponsers are hard to get i think i have only had 2 or three as long as I've been racing. It's tough for a working guy to race a late model but it's just something about that burnt quickchange oil that draws ya in.I was lucky because the guys that drove my cars Rouse,Feighner and Thorton alway finished high enough to get enough money to make the next race.I do have a nice Latemodel planter in my garage it grows lawn chairs, old tires, tarps ect.
