I dont want it to get lost in translation. For all the complaining that is going on, please dont take it as complaining...more just frustration

If it wasnt for the Hobbs Family, none of us would be on here to bitch and complain about anything. I am very grateful that this even took place at all.

No where on the WEST COAST, will you see 41 SLM cars again this year, unless its a sprint cup.

So thank you for building this event. I will be back next year.

So please on this thread, no Bitching or Complaining about any driver, express your appreciation for the jewel that we have

The facilities look awesome....

Yes, thank you Evergreen Speedway for putting on this show and you know it can only get better. You learned a lot and I'm sure you will do a great job and have good turn out next year. A 4-5 o'clock start would be good and count yellow's with pitstops would be interesting. And that race should stand on It's own, no other races.

H R P did a great job. now if the racers could just finish the first half of the race. and wait till the break for fuel and tires. it would have been awsome. the 31 was wicked fast. the 51 from back to front passing ten cars in the first 3 laps. their was a lot of good racing. way to go H R P. I will be back.

I thought Doug and team did a great job given the circumstances (apparently Doug hasn't learned an anti-rain-dance). They did everything they could to make this a great event. There were some hiccups, but given what they have done so far, I'm sure they will make adjustments to make next years Summer Showdown even better. Thank you for a GREAT weekend of racing!

I for one had a BLAST! There were a TON of positive things.
41 Late Models in the Pits!!!

30 Some Odd Pro 4's!

By my count I figured there were at least 12 to 15 cars that could easily win the Late Model race!!

Cars from all over Washington, Oregeon, Idaho, California and Canada!

Great Purse!

Good Prices for Pit Passes and Tickets!

Now there are also a couple of things that need fixing but I am sure they will be addressed and handled for the next event!

Count the first few yellow laps.

Run the B Main, a couple of those cars didn't really need to be out there and caused some of the long delays, with the B Main they wouldn't of been on the track.

Get a longer allowance on the Liquor License in the Beer Garden, having to shut down before the first 100 was over SUCKED!

Try to keep a faster paced show going, I know the weather was a HUGE deal but getting teams in at 8am is way too early, when its after 2am when most left!

Get a food stand down by the Late Model Pits (talked to Doug on this one and he BEGGED them to put a stand down there but they didn't) I hope HRP Can get the Food Concessions for Next Year!

Put a Souveneir tent up down in the Pit Area, a lot of the Crew Guys would of loved to buy shirts, hats, hoodies etc but didn't know where to go especially the out of town teams.

Get Breanne some help in the scoring tower, maybe make everyone go back to old school scorer because transponders do mess up.

Give the guy in the Spotters stand a white board that he can write down the lineup for people to go see and tell their driver where to go.

Last but not least, do this again PLEASE! It was a GREAT Event with a lot of GREAT teams and I think it can be Bigger!!!

Maybe still a little hungover from the Beer Garden lol

Thanks everyone for the support. Yes things were learned and will be improved, adjusted, fixed, etc. Plan on the 2nd Annual Coors Light Summer Showdown the last weekend of June in 2013.

To all the teams - fans - staff a BIG THANK YOU!!!!!!

It was still raining at 4:30 when we were to start. Another whopping thank you to the tow truck drivers and Cascade Push Trucks for the fantastic job that you did getting the track dry as quickly as you did.

Now we move on to the BIG 4th of July Bash and in two weeks the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West 150 and the Rodland Toyota 100 on July 14.

Budah As you know I was the first to do the spotters stand in thr NW. The thing I never understand is the owner that think they do not need to have a scanner to hear first hand what the line up is after the Yellow ? red and relay it to the driver. Also 40 cars are too many for one person ( I donot know how many Monroe had there. ) to control lineups from the spotters stand.. So Owners and Drivere are also at fault for slow lineups.

It was a great event, too bad the weather kept the fair-weather fans away. The amount of purse money got a lot of cars. I think HRP did good with the program. Too bad the drivers couldn't be a little more patient.

I plan on attending next year's festivities.

They had a white board in the spotters area, and there were 2 people. They did a great job. Keep in mind all they do is pass on information they don't make rulings. Some of the spotters were voicing their opinions/concerns which required the spotter stand official to call for a decision from the director.
In some cases this delayed the race.

JMO... I think in a race this long, all caution laps should be counted.
If there is going to be an extended caution period, red flag the race. If someone wants to go in the pits tell your spotter and get the official ok.
Work on your car under red and come back in the race at the end of the field when the caution comes out again before the restart.

Also... If you go in the pits under caution you do not ever get to go back on the track until the field passes. I point to the distraction on the white flag lap and the speeding cars in the pits trying to get back out. It made things more dangerous than it needed too be.

It sucked that guys ran out of fuel. This should not happen in a race like this where there is a panned pit stop at half way for tires and fuel. Too many caution laps.

We did not get to race but a few laps. All of our crew, the driver and my self talked for hours about how much fun it was to just be in a race of this caliber. We even had fun trying to load up afterwards. We look forward to next year. Thanks for your efforts Evergreen Speedway Staff.

This was a great race that was was nearly perfect. Very few changes if any are needed.

Far to many cars ran out of fuel due to the teams using very small fuel cells, there was one car with a 12 gallon, a few with 15 gallon and many with 18 gallon fuel cells. It very easy to eliminate this problem is to not allow any teams to add fuel until the 100 lap break. If a team chooses to gamble by using a small fuel cell and they run out they will need to wait until lap 100 before fueling. I doubt many teams would dare attempt to run an 18 gallon fuel cell under these circumstances if they knew they could not add any fuel until the scheduled break.

The vast majority of the yellows were caused by very veteran drivers racing far to hard way to early in the race. Sadly many cars were destroyed in the process. Not really sure how to fix this. Maybe a very enforced rule that if you cause a caution due to stupidity you are black flagged and parked in the pits for the rest of the day with no option of returning to the race.

The beer garden closing time should be at a predetermined number of laps remaining. (35 maybe?)

Having the spotters use scanners to moniter the officials would speed up the lineup tremendously.

Move the front stretch wall in about 15 feet to allow cars to enter the track in safer manner.

22 gallon cells still ran out , you can get 20.9 out of 22 in most cases .

Make your breaks at 75 laps and 150 laps and a 50 lap shootout.

Don't allow trailers or tents in the turn 3-4 pits.
Did anyone else notice that you couldn't see the cars on the last part of the backstretch and most of turn 3?

We used to be told to take our canopies down on the 1/5th mile because it obstructed the view of the 5/8 backstretch and then they go build a building that obstructs the view of the 5/8 backstretch. Smile

hey lets keep this post...positive and thankful that we had this awesome event...Start another thread that says what would you change....But dont put it on here. Im thankful that they are finding multiple uses for this area, so that the track remains and that we continue to have lights on a Saturday Night...or whatever night they have an event.... The facilities are second to no other track that i have been to.
