Roseburg, Oregon – Friday night July 6th DCS will host the traditional Graffiti Night at the races as a part of Roseburg’s annual summer Graffiti Weekend festivities. After a few weekends off because of mother nature DCS will feature Modifieds, Street Stocks, Mini –Stocks, and The Old Time Racers of Oregon. The Show n Shine cruise during intermission will feature classic cars from throughout the Northwest.
The Modified division will heat up as the car count will likely continue to increase in the coming races. Point leader Brad Watson will look to hold off drivers such as Bobby Barnes and Willie Thompson among other competitors.
The Street Stocks will return as only 45 points separate the top 5 in the season point standings. Chris Allmendinger will seek to capture his third straight main event victory over the likes of Gary Perry, Monte Cox Jr, and Morgan Burke.
The always competitive Mini – Stock class will add to the excitement at DCS on Friday night. Veteran driver Jimmy Smith holds a 10 point lead over the young gun Karl Smith in the point standings. Drivers Joe Forsman, Nicholas Hansen, and Ed Pratt will attempt to shake up the current top 10 as there only separated by 6 points.
The Old Time Racers of Oregon will also take to the track on Graffiti Night at DCS.
The Douglas County Speedway is located just off Interstate 5 exit 123 south of Roseburg at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. Gates open 4 and racing starts at 6:30. For more information log onto dcspeedway.com.
