| janet 01/08/06 05:39 AM | That can be done. I will ask the people at SRL/ASA. I probably should have done that first, but this way…it is harder to say no, right That is a great idea to run sound in conjunction with the Near Live. I do not see why you would have to ask permission of NASCAR to broadcast an SRL event. And as for promoters we have wonderful relationships with most and I foresee them having no problems with the coverage, providing they have room. I anticipate some complaints from users over the quality of sound, but maybe someone that works with sound could help us. The most critical thing is reaching listeners. It would be hard for a track website or one of the smaller racing sites to reach the masses, but we are certainly equipped to do just that. One thing we excel at is driving traffic. How fun if all the bugs are worked out for the SW Teams when they make their transition over to the SRL. We could add sound clips of drivers before/after qualifying and at some races even get the driver/crew chief interview if a car pulls out during the race for reasons unknown or with damage. I can visualize asking people to come to the track even tempting them with weather or even controversy. Appealing to the listener by letting them know their favorite driver needs their support… “These drivers can’t hear you at home…come on out and cheer them on!” On a site the size of RacingWest this could make a difference. This is an ideal way to build up the heroes….and someone may just want to play the villain….afterall that is what drives the fans wild…someone to cheer and someone to boo as they go two, three even four wide bumping and rubbing to the checkered flag. |
