Hopefully everyone is aware by now about the international scams going on with craigs list and all internet classifieds including racing west. I had my first one on racing west about a year ago when they bought something from me for like $500 and they sent me a cashiers check for $2200 more then the part. They said they wanted me to cash the check and send the $2000 to a shipping agent and I was to keep the extra $200 for my troubles. I brought the check to the race shop to show the guys this scam. I called an old customer of mine who is with the FBI here in CDA, he said they do nothing because there are thousands of these nation wide. He told me to frame it and put it on my office wall.lol The one I have now ( the last 3 days) is for the Baby Grand I have for sale. Bill Mayer (fake name) says hes off shore and wants to buy it for his Dad, asks for my e-mail address and says he can only pay through PAYPAL, I wanted to figure this out so I gave him my e-mail and the next day I recieved notice fron PAY-PAL that the money was there but it was on hold until I send the "extra" money to his shipping agent by western union. Again PAYPAL is super safe with massive code protection so when I logged into my PAYPAL account my balance was still at $173.00! SO DONT GET FOOLED BY THESE SCAM ARTISTS. This is my public service for racers that may be stupid.
