I don't think a lot of people that say just let the track pick your tires understand how crucial stagger is to your race car. Minus 1/2" of stagger makes a huge difference in how that car reacts and feels. To me it all goes back to the pay, how many late models would there be if the tires cost $500 and winning was only worth $400. Not many... Yes the takeoff helps tire cost, but it increases speeds and makes wrecking more expensive... Just some thoughts...
