Community Cares Burry Dolbeare

To all of Burry's racing family that ever read any of his postings or press releases I would like to inform you he passed away today at his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Will post information about services when more details are available. Thanks for your years of support for my father, Annette Dolbeare

During his life in Colorado Springs Mr. Dolbeare was very actively involved in the sport of automobile racing. He was an announcer at several Colorado race track and worked in public relations for Sportsman's Raceway Park, the Pikes Peak Auto Hill Climb, Colorado Springs International Speedway, and in the media center at Pikes Peak International Raceway from 1997 until its closing in 2005. He was a charter member, lifetime member, and three-term President of the Colorado Hill Climb Association and a President of the Pikes Peak Stock Car Racing Association. He was the Public Relations representative for three California NASCAR drivers from 2000 through 2006. He was also a member of Arie #2360 of the F.O.E.

Amy and I send our best thoughts to the family This is sad news indeed. Burry sure loved racing and racers. I always thought he had an appreciation for the history of the sport, too. A great guy. A sad loss. Lee Elder

Burry's daughter posted on the regular board that Burry had passed away. I missed it. People like Burry are a huge part of what made racing great in the past and will in the future. He was the PR for MK Kanke, the PR for Burney Lamar, the PR for Jim Pettit II, oh I know I am missing some. He worked the Media center at Pike's Peak International Raceway and don't forget the Pikes Peak Hill Climb. But mostly he was one of the best there was. He spoke his mind, good or bad. Loved him for his honesty, for his being down to earth, he never tooted his own horn...but he sure did a lot of tooting for others. He drove in that cold Colorado air speeding to the races with the windows down, the cigaret burning and the jazz blasting. Gonna miss you, Colorado Hobo.
