Community Cares Chuck Matthews
| It is with much sadness and regret that I announce the passing of Charles "Chuck" Matthews of Santa Clarita, CA. Chuck finally lost his long, hard-fought battle with cancer on August 26, 2009 at the age of 61 years. Although Chuck valiantly served his country in Viet Nam, he dedicated the vast majority of his adult life to racing as a Track Official at Saugus Speedway, Mesa Marin Raceway and most recently at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale. His comprehensive knowledge of racing, and the people who race, made him a valuable asset as a Racing Rep for Frank's Radio Service, as well.
Many of you in the racing community will remember Chuck as a friendly, easy-going person with a burning passion for racing - a passion that remained to the very end. Those who knew Chuck well were proud to call him a friend, and he will be sorely missed by all those whose lives he touched. Mark Hammerquist, FranksRadioStore.com |

It is with great sadness to hear the news about Chuck's passing. I had the pleasure of working with Chuck for over a year as his company, Frank's Radios sponsored our 2006 SWT team.
