God Speed, Denny 7/20/2012 Denny Strimple, known for his beautiful photographs as part of the team of NorthFork Photo Has passed away. Please leave a prayer or goodbye for Scruffy. We will miss you Denny, forever and ever. Who will we have to wait for after the race to look for all the missing things? Who will we have to ride with on raceday and get to the track 3 hours before opening...just cause you didn't want to miss anything. Who will we have to talk to for hours on end about this and that and this again? Who will ever give us those angled shots that were so clear, so clean? Rest peacefully, Scruffy. It will not be as much fun without you. UPDATE - 4/22/05 RacingWest just received a phone call from well known and loved photographer Denny Strimple of North Fork Photos. He is in good spirits and just enjoying being back at home after his surgery and extended stay at the hospital. Strimple, who is amazing the doctors with his rapid recovery, is planning to make his return at the NASCAR Northwest Series season opener in Yakima. And would like to let everyone know that he really appreciates the support that he has got from everyone.

  E Mail from Jim: Hi Friends, I just learned that my good friend, Denny Strimple passed away. What a shock! He was by far the best Auto Racing Photographer on the West Coast., if not the entire U.S.A. He and I met while taking photos of the awesome NASCAR Winston West race cars at Monroe, WA during the 1980's. He was a great friend, mentor, and dry witted excellent photographer. We helped each other be better at our passion....PHOTOGRAPHY! More than that, he befriended my wife, kids, and grandkids. His home near Index, WA helped me heal some things with my youngest daughter, Amy Lynn (I love you more than you know, Amy, thanks to my buddy, Denny). My granddaughters loved playing with his dog, Sonny, on his visits to Yakima. Like I've posted before, I'll dry my tears another day so I can grieve the lost of my friend today. From this day forward I will try to be the best I can be when looking through my Canon lenses (Denny was a Nikon man!). I learned so much from Denny and I hope he learned a couple of things from me, too. Denny will be missed at the many race tracks up and down the West Coast and around the country.
