  • 09/08/1999 - VALADEZ RECOVERY EXPECTED TO BE LENGTHY
Update September 8, 1999 -- From Dick Varder, MRO Chaplain. Went to see David last evening 9/8/99. He is doing great considering all that has happened. He had skin graft surgery and came through great. The main concern now for the family is the length of time that David will have to be at L.A. County USC Med. Center. His wife has found another place to stay while she is here to be near David. She says that so many people are so kind. The NASCAR racing people are like another family. Still there is nothing like home cooking. Our prayers are with David for a speedy recovery.
