Community Cares Doug Beeler

Doug Beeler, an official in the NASCAR Camping World Series West, died Thursday at the age of 71. Beeler of Marysville, Calif., served as an inspector and truck driver for the series.

"Doug was a very dedicated NASCAR official who will be sadly missed,” said NASCAR Vice President of Corporate Communications Jim Hunter. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family."

Beeler, a retired utility company supervisor, initially began working as an inspector and driving the NASCAR hauler for the series in 2002. Prior to that he drove the team hauler for Spears Motorsports.

  • Tommy Loudon
With all the Huge Egos in our sport, Doug was one of the few "Good Guys" who checked his at the door, that is until you messed with him, after that you better watch out! I spent many times with Doug laughing at all of his story's and just enjoying life on & off the Track. He was one of those guys you respected, but could have a lot fun with too. He was unique in every sense of the word, and will be deeply missed. I'm proud to have been his friend.

I will miss many things about our Doug...his smile, laughter and wit, doing the "Twist" while trying to clean the Victory Lane banner, and his dislike of "Chicken"! Doug would do anything for a person he liked and as they say would "give the shirt off his back" if you asked....but he did not like people telling him what to do! He was a man of principle and deep family values, one who loved his family with all his heart and soul. My love and prayers go out to Dougs beloved family! I will miss my #1 Banner Bitch!
