Hank Hilton
For those who may not have heard, longtime Northern California racer Hank Hilton is gravely ill. Tests performed at Sutter Coast Hospital on 2/25 showed that cancer has invaded his vital organs. Today, 2/26, Hank is returning to his home in Klamath.

Hammerin' Hank drove his first stock car race in 1949 at the age of 16. He most recently ran in the North State Challenge Series, last year, at 74 years young.

Hank, Dolores, and their family could really use our support in this difficult time. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Cards and well wishes may be sent to:

Hank Hilton was my husband, I write this and I cry but my family and I are so thankful his passing was as painless as it could be. We loved, fought and cried together for 38 short years. His passion in life was racing and as of early December he had his Summit catalog out and he was getting ready to order the parts he needed to race the tour race in Roseburg, OR in June, but fate stepped in. I want to thank all the many family and friends for their love, the phone calls, cards and visits. He was one of a kind and we raced (sometimes just the two of us)loved, fought, cried together and, darn, I so miss him. He loved so many and so many loved him, what more can be said of a man! He died as he wanted, at home with me and all our kids. But he did not get buried in his race car in our back yard like he wanted.

My Dad was my hero! No matter what happened in my life I was certain of two things, dad loved me and he loved my mom. He was a great racer and a great man. He was always willing to help anyone, anytime. He lived his life to the fullest and he told me he had no regrets. I miss you so much daddy but I will see you again.

Hank and dolores have been very special to my wife and I for many, many years since we were both about very young, I was about 12 years old and I loved hanging out with him in the garage with the race car, he taught me alot over the years and my wife (Sherry) and Hank became very close over the years, when she came to the pits after the races her first words were where are Hank and Dolores pitted. He will be so missed by our family.
