It was reported in the SparksTribune.net that Jonathan Phifer of Vacaville, Calif., was involved in a fuel fire at Reno-Fernley Raceway while racing his sprint car.

Phifer was flown by Careflight to the trauma center at Washoe Medical Center. A RacingWest user has reported that Phifer was later transferred to the UC Davis burn center.

The SparksTribune also reported that between the fans and track crew $912.94 was donated to help with Phifer’s medical expenses.
