Community Cares Shelley Baker

Shelley suffered a seizure and passed away in her home on Wednesday. Our Hearts go out to the entire Baker Family in this time of need. Shelley was a mother and good friend to all who knew her. I remember talking to Shelley at our last race on the 14th and it was obvious to me how proud she was of her children. We talked about Meagan’s upcoming marriage this year and about how proud she was of Grant in his racing endeavors this season with the NWSST Tour.

I realize now I should have talked longer with her as I was called to the racecar for our first race of the evening. I have talked with many people in the previous 24 hours and only know now how deeply connected she was with everyone in this division. Many tears have been shed and she will not soon be forgotten. This is a reality check for everyone on how short life really is in this world we live in.

We will remember Shelley for how full of life she always was. And we hope she is happy that she is again with her only love Tim. Our Hearts and Prayers go out to the Baker Family in this trying time. Services will be held on Saturday the 21st of June at 10:30 am in The Sandy Funeral Home at 39551 Pleasant St. in Sandy, Oregon Please attend and show support for the Baker family.

As Susan and I made phone calls over the last day, Several drivers responded saying they would contribute their winnings From the last race into a fund for the Baker children to help them get through this time in their lives. Susan and I are also contributing our winnings from both races to the fund.
