Community Cares Sue McKarns

Sue McKarns passed away in her sleep earlier in the morning on August 8, 2010. Sue was the loving wife of John McKarns, Legendary ARTGO Promoter.

Sue's passing comes one day short of the six month anniversary of John's earlier this year.

Many will remember Sue to bringing a bright and spirited atmosphere at every ARTGO event and more recently the famous Oktoberfest Race Weekend at La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway in West Salem, WI. Many will remember her involvement in off-track activities like the Pet Parade and the pumpkin coloring contest for children on Sunday morning.

She was a proud grandmother. Personally, I remember a few years ago I was at the hotel during Oktoberfest when I ran into Sue in the lobby. She was still beaming over a dvd that she got of her grandson Al singing the National anthem for the first time at Rockford Speedway. I think Al was 3 or 4 years old when he did that. She even had me come down to her room where she opened up her DVD player to show it to me. It was a happy moment for her.

We will all remember her smile, her outgoing attitude, her laugh and most of all her spirit.
