Chris Cook Driver Bio
Chris Cook was the youngest chief instructor at the Bob Bondurant School and has a gift for going fast. Tony Stewart speaks highly of Chris on www.shiftintogear.com. Bill Cooper said, "Chris Cook is a natural on the track with amazing car control and unmatched speed." Chris was third in the Firehawk championship in 1991, and he won 1992 Rookie of the Year in Late Model Stock Cars at Fairgrounds Speedway at Nashville, which is a .596 mile, 18 degree banked paved oval that now forms part of the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series. Although Chris had a great season in 1992, the recession dried up sponsorship. Over the past few years, he has been able to generate intermittent sponsorship, which has allowed him to compete. Chris was running in second place in the NASCAR Busch race at Watkins Glen in 1999 until he spun a rod bearing.
