Sammy Potashnick Driver Bio
Sammy Potashnick began his racing career competing in motocross in 1987 and 1988. He raced on four-wheelers from 1989-1992. He began racing stock cars, competing in races with the ARCA in 1996 and 1997. Potashnick began racing in the NASCAR Winston West Series 1997, winning the Bud Pole Award in his first race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He ran three NWWS events in 1997 and two in 1998. He tackled the full schedule in 1999, finishing ninth in the championship standings and taking the runner-up spot in the tight battle for the Rookie-of-the-Year Award. He also picked up his second Bud Pole Award during the season and had a career best third place finish at Rocky Mountain Raceways in his first full year.
