Steve Portenga Driver Bio
Steve Portenga is a former amateur boxer. He won a NASCAR Weekly Racing Series championship in the sportsman division at Silver State Raceway in Carson City Nevada in 1991. He is one of only two drivers to win two championships in NASCAR's Featherlite Southwest Touring Series - 1994 and 1998. He competed in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 1995 and a few events in the NASCAR Winston West Series in 1995 and 1996. Portenga teamed with car owner Jim Offenbach to run the full schedule in 1999, finishing fifth in the championship standings and collecting his first series win.
