BOB FARMER'S FANATIC ABOUT CWC
 FEATHERLITE SOUTHWEST SERIES

Bob Farmer

Bob Farmer, owner of the #4 Chevrolet Monte Carlos driven by Dennis Dyer, is looking forward to the Copper World Classic at Phoenix International Raceway, just as he has for the past 20 years. His team plans on holding nothing back for the annual event.

Although Farmer does not have a full time marketing partner, he is still prepared to go all out at PIR for the win.

RacingWest: What's your favorite part about racing at the Copper Classic and what significance does the Copper World Classic have in your career as a driver?
BF: Racing in the Copper Classic is fun and a good way to see how you compare to the teams from around the country, and getting the TV time in good for the team and sponsor.

RW: Considering that PIR has two distinctly different corners, which do you, set your car up for to be the best you can or can you get both?

BF: We try to get a set up for both corners.

RW: Track record being a 27.386 held by Hornaday from the 1995 CWC, do you feel that this record will go down this year and how will you do it?
BF: No I don't think that the track record will be broken, I think the tires are a factor.

RW: NASCAR has a new Monte Carlo body this year (straight up). Do you feel this is an advantage on the PIR mile?
BF: I do not have any info on the new body, we will have to see if there are any at the race and see how they perform.

RW: Since this is only a 50-lap race, will it be 50 flat out or will you have to conserve the car a little?
BF: This race is a flat out dash to the finish, you don't have time to wait and see what happens, you have to get to the front as fast as possible.

RW: If you could compare Phoenix to any other track the Series races on, which one would it be?
BF: We don't get to run on many big tracks, so Phoenix is its own track, and a lot of fun to run on.

RW: What is your goal, Win? Exposure? Experience?
BF: Run up front and get as much exposure, and try to win at the end.

RW: What advantages can you offer a sponsor for this race over other teams?
BF: I think we have a great driver and crew, and can offer a sponsor a great deal of exposure with the car and the team.

RW: What will you do now that there is not longer the Toolies/drivers get together on Thursday night before the race?
BF: We don't have much time to go out after the long days at the track, we try to talk with the crew at night to set up things for the next day.

RW: Do you have any sightseeing planned during your trip to Phoenix?
BF: No we work on the race, and don't have much time for sightseeing, this will be my 20th year going to Phoenix this year. ####
