THOMASVILLE, NC -- Ware Racing announces a marketing partnership with Hoosier Racing Tire for the 1999 NASCAR Winston West Series. Rick Ware, owner and driver has been chosen by Hoosier to be one of the primary test drivers in the NWWS. The alliance and associate sponsorship allows Hoosier and Ware the opportunity to research and showcase products during the series 1999 touring schedule. As a Hoosier test team, Ware will be included in various product test sessions scheduled over the eleven-month season. Ware will evaluate product performance, supply data acquisition and additional technical support to enhance overall product performance, development and brand image. Ware, a NWWS newcomer and Sears Point Raceway Rookie-of-the-Year contender, participated in the first Hoosier test session in early January. "Our commitment is to offer Hoosier highly prepared equipment and personnel allowing them to maximize their return on investment. It's a win-win situation... On long-run sessions, they get vital information and I get important seat time." Ware commented. "This alliance is the first step to building a future relationship with an icon in racing. We hope to be an important element in future product development and brand support." Ware racing is a North Carolina based team. Located just 45-minutes north of Charlotte, Ware recently moved into a new 7,500 square foot facility housing three new Pontiac Grand Prix race cars, a fabricating shop, a Dyno-jet Chassis dyno and a 53' team transporter. Ware Enterprises, an integrated marketing and public relations division of the team has offices at the same location. A native Californian, Ware's hometown track was Riverside International Raceway, just east of his hometown of Los Angeles. At RIR, Ware competed in NASCAR Grand National, the Southwest Tour and SCCA Trans-am from 1983-86. Hoosier Racing Tire Corporation has been in business since 1957. The company produces over 1,200 different sizes of racing tires for nearly every conceivable motor sports venue. In April of 1998, Hoosier and Kelly Springfield Tire Company formed a 10-year manufacturing and marketing alliance to produce, warehouse and service Hoosier Brand passenger and light truck tires. The premium-level Hoosier brand performance street tires will be distributed through traditional retail channels. "Hoosier" has earned it's stripes at race tracks for over 40 years and motor sports enthusiasts are among the most brand-loyal consumers," says Dennis Sherman, Vice President of Marketing for Hoosier.
