GLENDORA, CA -- With testing and preparations for the upcoming Orleans 150 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the Glendora Auto Tech Motorsports crew and driver Joe Bean have been busy, to say the least. On February 16th the team was hard at work testing the #77 Banks Power/Mission Foods Ford Taurus with different set-ups and spring combinations at LVMS with the hope of getting an edge on the competition. "We are contenders, but the focus right now is on all the big buck teams. We'll give them all a run for their money in Vegas. We are on a roll, no pun intended," commented Joe Bean. The very next week the team was back in action, but now tire testing for Goodyear at Mesa Marin Raceway in Bakersfield, California. The test's main purpose was to build a better short-track tire program for the Winston West Series when they make their first visit to a short track in 1999 on April 9th. "Goodyear will definitely be a force to contend with in April." Joe Nava declared, "All in all the team has made great forward strides both in testing and preparation. The last showing in Tucson was very encouraging to the team and sponsors."
