LUSK READY TO PICK UP FIRST WIN
 FEATHERLITE SOUTHWEST SERIES

#40 - Damon Lusk

Damon Lusk isn't just eager about winning a Featherlite Southwest Series race. He's getting downright restless. The driver of the #40 America Online Chevrolet Monte Carlo feels that his chances for win a win in the Coors Light 125 at Cajon Speedway are extremely good.

Although Lusk doesn't have the track time at the historic El Cajon, California track, Tenino Raceway in the Northwest is very comparable.

RacingWest: If you were at the Copper World, do you still have a car to race at Cajon?
Damon Lusk: No, but luckily we have two cars!

RW: How has your team used their "free time" with almost 2 months between races?
DL: The past few weeks we have been preparing for the long season to come, and enjoying the time off.

RW: What do you like the most about racing at Cajon?
DL: I have never been to El Cajon, but looking forward to running there.

RW: How will your team be the "team to beat" in Cajon?
DL: I have heard that El Cajon is similar to Tenino Raceway in the Northwest Series and I had some awesome races there last year.

RW: Will you be excited to get back to the short tracks?
DL: I can not wait to get back to the short tracks and not have to fight 60 other cars to get into the show, and be able to make it a short trip, not a vacation.

RW: Will your team be using a different racecar for this short track than it did in Phoenix?
DL: Yes

RW: Does qualifying matter here?
DL: I think if you qualify up front it always helps, but that doesn't mean that you can not come from the back and win.

RW: Do you have any new sponsors or team members you'll be introducing at Cajon?
DL: We had a new crew chief at Phoenix and things went really well. We have high hopes of Duane Sharp and are looking forward to a great season with him. ####
