ANAHEIM, CA -- The Ralph's/Food 4 Less Racing Team was busy testing on Saturday at Irwindale Speedway. The test session was a chance for driver Butch Gilliland to get a head start on the rest of the Winston West Series contingent. The inaugural event at the state of the art track will take place on June 19th.

Because of the major appeal of Iwindale Speedway, the team was only able to practice for about 15 laps. However the team did have the track to themselves as no other Winston West Series team took advantage of testing. The crew's trials were broken into two different testing sessions one at 5 p.m. and again at 8 p.m.

"I think the track is great!" exclaimed Gilliland. "The track has all the amenities that a fan and spectator alike could ask for. They will have no problem filling the stands to a capacity. This place is awesome. I can't wait until we come back here an run in the heat of battle."

"Of course, the Irwindale is a unique race track. But, It does have some similarities to Tucson and we have used some of our notes from there", voiced Ron Heridge, crew chief for the team.

Fans will be given the opportunity to see the Ralph's/Food 4 Less Ford Taurus up close at Irwindale Speedway. On April 2-3 for the opening NASCAR weekend there will be a show car on display at the track. In addition, spectators will be treated to a full night of racing action as the Late Models, Super Stock and Mini Stocks will be begin racing at 7:30.
