SCOTT GAYLORD THIRLLED TO BE AT PIR
 WINSTON WEST SERIES

Scott Gaylord

The last event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is probably the only race in Scott Gaylord career that he would like to forget. The 1998 Winston West Series Most Popular driver suffered serious damage to his Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

During practice, Gaylord's engine blew sending oil spewing onto the track. The oil eventually found its way under his tires sending him driver's side first hard into the wall. He was able to get behind the wheel of Bernie Hilber's Pontiac for the Las Vegas event.

With the demolished car it looked like Gaylord would be unable to attend Phoenix International Raceway. But an opportunity presented itself that has allowed him to be part of the field for the Napa Auto Parts 100.
