NOTES OF INTEREST FOR THE CRAFTSMAN TRUCK WEEKEND
 WINSTON WEST, CRAFTSMAN TRUCK & FEATHERLITE SOUTHWEST SERIES
 

DATE: April 9, 10 and 11, 1999
WHAT: Three days of NASCAR competition featuring the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (Friday - qualify / Saturday - race), NASCAR Winston West Series (Sunday - qualify / race), NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series (Friday qualify / race), NASCAR Winston Racing Series Late Models (Sunday qualify / race) and Ultra Wheels SPEC Truck Series (Saturday qualify / race).
PRIZE MONEY: In excess of $500,000.00.
COVERAGE: ESPN will provide live flag to flag coverage of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series "Dodge California Truck Stop 300" at 4:30pm PST.

NASCAR STREET FESTIVAL: The weekend will be kicked-off on Thursday evening April 8, with the "NASCAR Downtown Street Festival" from 6pm to 9pm. Ten blocks of downtown Bakersfield will be closed in the Chester Avenue - 19th Street area. All the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series 70 foot transporters will be on display, there will be driver autographs, a barbecue rib cook-off, rides for the kids, food, drink, souvenirs and entertainment for everyone.
CORPORATE HOSPITALITY: Over 1000 corporate guests from around the nation will be hosted at the Mesa Marin Raceway Hospitality Village for a pre-race luncheon before the "Dodge California Truck Stop 300". with the "NASCAR Downtown Street Festival" from 6pm to 9pm. RETURNING TO WHERE IT STARTED: The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series was born at Mesa Marin Raceway. It 1994, the prototype NASCAR Craftsman Truck was designed, constructed and tested at Mesa Marin Raceway. Mesa Marin Raceway has hosted a total of five NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events, plus the world debut of the series at an exhibition event on July 30, 1994.
