The Glendora Auto Tech Motorsports # 77 Winston West Team lent a helping hand to a worthy function last weekend. The team worked for the YWCA Wings Celebrity Classic benefiting the Wings Shelter for Battered Women.

The event featured a tennis classic, golf tournament 5K walk and star-studded gala held at the Industry Hills Golf & Tennis Resort. All proceeds from the event help maintain a shelter for battered families and women that need assistance getting back on their feet after being in troubling situations.

The event was held April 23rd & 24th this year. The all-star cast included: Pat Boone, Alan Thicke, Lyle & Sharon Waggoner, Bruce Jenner, Olympian Dave Johnson, Kim Alexis and Desi Arnez Jr. The team was also able to rope in MRO Chaplain Dick Varder.

"The clincher was that we had to buy him breakfast," said Joe Nava." We always know that we can count on Dick if we feed him."
