VERNON BACK STRONG
 WINSTON WEST SERIES

The NASCAR Winston Racing Series will provide another night of fast paced action at the Mesa Marin Raceway. The Mechanix Wear 100 will be the 2nd event held this weekend for the late models. Tonight's event had been scheduled to run last month. But the weather had different ideas and the race was postponed until tonight.

One of the stars of the NASCAR Winston Racing Series is Kevin Vernon. Vernon was seriously injured at the track when the racing action got a little too close and Vernon was the innocent victim. Entrapped in a ball of fire, the fans held their breath and prayed. That night no one was sure just how bad it was or if they would see Vernon racing again.

But Vernon is back and back strong. He has perhaps one of the most positive attitudes to be found. If anything his fan base has grown since the incident. But he knows that there were people supporting him and praying and for that Vernon can not extend enough gratitude.

Vernon wanted to tell his fans, "I just want to thank everybody for all the support and worrying about me. I'm doing great right now. It's been about six weeks now. My face is pretty much healed I just have to stay out of the sun. I'm just happy to be in the race car mainly." ####
