Scott Gaylord, last year's NASCAR Winston West Series most popular drivers is currently seeking a ride for the Inaugural Irwindale Speedway event. Gaylord has NASCAR Winston Cup, NASCAR Winston West and NASCAR Busch Grand National Series experience. Gaylord is known for his ability to get a car in the field and bring it home in one piece.

Long been considered one of the most versatile racers in the NASCAR Winston West Series his talent has not been limited to the West. When a Busch Grand National team needed to get their car in the field at Watkins Glen, it was Gaylord that got the job done for them! Although many people think of Gaylord as a specialist in the road course events, he is capable of staying on the lead lap at any track. With the right equipment and the right luck, the next race he enters could be the next race he wins.
RacingWest: What are your impressions of the facility by either seeing it or hearing about it?
Scott Gaylord: Sounds great. I hope to be there but still looking for a team to drive for.

RW: What do you expect from the fans at Irwindale Speedway? SG: A full crowd

RW: Will they know the Winston West drivers?
SG: Sure

RW: How has your team prepared for this new track?
SG: Not sure what team I will be driving for yet

RW: What do you see as most challenging about Irwindale Speedway?
SG: Learning what is the fastest way around. New tracks even the competition and I like new tracks we always do well.

RW: Since the track is banked like Tucson, but it is 1/2 mile like Mesa. What kind of setup will you use? More like Mesa or more like Tucson?
SG: Tucson

RW: It is rumored that Irwindale may be hard on tires. What is your plan to manage tires at this track?
SG: Work on set up and driver saving tires

RW: What changes do you regularly make between practice, qualifying and the race?
SG: On going as the car dictates

RW: Will this new track be any different?
SG: Yet to be seen

RW: There are possibly 3 grooves at Irwindale. Typically to win you must start up front; can any car win from the back with three grooves?
SG: Sure but not easy.

RW: Finally when not racing what is your regular job?
SG: Owner of Gaylord's Garage Honda/Acura service.
