COUGHENOUR PUTS GILLILAND IN SEAT AT SONOMA

Petaluma, CA. -- C & C Racing announced today that 1997 NASCAR Winston West Champion Butch Gilliland will drive the Iomega Chevrolet Monte Carlo in the Snap On 200 NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series event at Sears Point Raceway on Saturday, June 26th. This will be the third time Gilliland has driven the C & C Racing machine in NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series competition. He finished tenth in the Iomega Chevrolet in last years event for the team. Butch will also be behind the wheel in the Ralph's / Food 4 Less / Coca-Cola Ford Taurus #38 in the SaveMart / Kragen 350 NASCAR Winston Cup Series event at Sears Point on Sunday, June 27th. Both events will be televised live on ESPN.

Gilliland won the 1997 Fry's Electronics / Iomega Zip 100 at Sears Point, also capturing the Busch Pole Award for the event. Once again in 1998 he won the pole for the Iomega sponsored event at Sears Point, dominating the NASCAR Winston West Series event until a last lap incident ended his day. He was voted the Most Popular Driver in the NASCAR Winston West Series in 1997, and set a record for single series winnings. He is second in NASCAR Winston West Series all time money leaders. Butch has 12 career victories in NASCAR Winston West Series competition, and holds the NASCAR Winston West Series Track Record at Sears Point Raceway, Mesa Marin Raceway and Tucson Raceway Park. Gilliland also has competed in all of the NASCAR Winston Cup Series exhibition races at Suzuka Circuit and Twin Ring Montegi in Japan.

Veteran NASCAR Crew Chief Bob John will also be back on board for the Sears Point event. Bob has a tremendous background working for many years with Ron Hornaday, Jr., defending NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion and former NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series Champion. Veteran engine builder Joey Grose of Ron Grose Racing will prepare and provide technical support at all events for the C & C Racing team in 1999.

The teams' primary sponsor for the Sears Point event is Iomega, Corp. manufacturers of the ZIP, JAZ and Clik brand of computer peripheral and accessories product. The team recently acquired associate sponsorship from Flex Products, manufacturers of the revolutionary ChromaFlair / ColorShift pigment technology that was featured on Jeff Gordon's NASCAR Winston Cup Series Dupont Chevrolet the past two years at The Winston. The C & C Racing Chevrolet will feature an all new paint formulation of Flex Products innovative ColorShift technology at the Snap On 200 at Sears Point Raceway. Long time associate sponsor, Advance Tech Collision of Santa Rosa will be performing the paint and bodywork on the car.

C & C Racing is based in Petaluma, California and plans to compete in several upcoming NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series events in 1999. The team plans to run the entire 2000 NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series schedule. The team is still seeking primary and associate sponsorship for the remainder of the 1999 season, and for the entire 2000 season.
