Three-time series champions Garrett Evans and Ron Eaton each have four wins at Wenatchee Valley’s Super Oval, tops at the track for the series.
Tom Sweatman currently is the hottest driver on the series. Fresh off his victory at Kalispell Raceway Park, the "Sweathog" has had four straight top-five finishes on the Raybestos Brakes Northwest Series. The stretch includes another win at South Sound Speedway and a runner-up finish at Evergreen Speedway.
The Totem Travel Rookie of the Year race seems to be settling down to a battle between Joe Benedetti and Wes Rhodes. Benedetti holds a five-point margin, 92 to 87, over Rhodes.
The race record for a 125-lap event at Wenatchee Valley’s Super Oval was broken twice last year. Wilbur Bruce was the last to do the trick, completing the 125 laps in 35 minutes, 9 seconds.
STAT OF THE WEEK:
The track record has stood since 1990. The record, held by John Dillon, likely will fall with the new track surface. Teams in practice have run nearly a second a lap faster than the old record.
