KENNY SMITH RACING FOR FUN

Kenny Smith NASCAR Winston West Series Traditional racing has drivers and crew loading their car for the Saturday night race. They have worked their rear-ends off in the preceeding days making sure theirs was the car to beat. This scene is played out time and time again across the country. And as racing becomes ever more popular so does the pressure to be the best in your class. There are driver appearances, autograph sessions, business plans and on it goes. Sometimes a driver gets so wrapped up in being number one or winning a race, he loses sight of what racing is all about in the first place - having fun.

One driver that never lost sight of that is Kenny Smith. Supported by a wonderful family, the Smiths always have time to talk racing and share a meal. Their hauler feels like home to many who wander the pits. A nicer bunch is hard to find. The Smiths are involved in several forms of auto racing from MSRA Pro 4 to the NASCAR Winston West. And yes, they have fun in all divisions they race.

This weekend it is the Winston West event at Irwindale Speedway where Smith will be racing. Does he want to win? You bet! He's good at this track and it will be no suprise to see him running up front. But if he doesn't win he will still be happy, because he is doing what he wants to do! At the end of the night Kenny Smith and the other NASCAR stars will be in the pits signing autographs. Drop by and say hi to Kenny and his crew!
