SCOTT GAYLORD COMES BACK FOR RMR

Scott Gaylord NASCAR Winston West Cup Busch Driver

Scott Gaylord is one of the veterans of stock car racing in the west. For years fans followed his #00 Olds then Chevrolet as he competed in the west coast version of NASCAR Winston Cup, the NASCAR Winston West Series. Gaylord is one of those drivers that has been consistently good at everything he drives, from enduro races in pick-up trucks to the elite stock cars in the NASCAR Winston Cup Division, but it was in the Winston West Series that people remember him most.

Winning Sportsman of the Year, Most Popular driver, consistently finishing with a top-ten in the standings, he has been a driver people noticed. Although Gaylord has only competed in a couple of races in the series this season, he has still been racing, most recently in the NASCAR Busch Grand National Division. The Busch Grand National Division has a significant following in the east, but the fans in the West know the Winston West and are glad to have him back and look forward to seeing him with a successful run at Rocky Mountain Raceway. They will be there to cheer the Oliver Gravity Separators Monte Carlo on to the front.

RacingWest: Have you had a chance to test or drive Rocky Mountain Raceway?
SG: No, this will be our first time there.

RW: If yes, what was your opinion, if no what have you heard about it from others that have raced it?
SG: Short track like Tucson

RW: What track do you think RMR will most resemble and will you start off with your set-ups from that track?
SG: We will start off with our Tucson set-up.

RW: What are your hopes/expectations for Rocky Mountain Raceway?
SG: To run up front.

RW: The Southwest Tour came back from their first event at RMR with nothing but good things to say about the enthusiastic fans and the track promoters. Are you excited to go to an event where they want to see you race that much?
SG: Sure. It goes without saying fans are the reason we race.

RW: This event has TV coverage are you selling this to sponsors?
SG: Yes, that is one reason we are going.
