MARK REED READY TO GO RIGHT

Mark Reed NASCAR Southwest Tour Series
Team: Reed Motorsports
Driver: Mark Reed
Car: No. 04

Mark Reed and the Food 4 Less racing team will be very busy this week leading up to the LA Street race. Mark will be making appearances August 31st at the Food 4 Less in Wilmington, CA and September 1st at the Food 4 Less in Marino Valley, Calif.

Reed, driver of thee No. 04 Chevrolet said, " The Marino Valley appearance will be the Grand Opening of the 100th Food 4 Less store in Southern, CA, this is a special occasion for Food 4 Less. This could not happen at a better time right before the biggest Southwest Series race of the year."

RacingWest: What is it like to turn right?
Mark Reed: I started racing in go karts so turning right is very natural to me.

RW: How much of a difference is there to the chassis set-up when you have to turn both ways?
MR: The chassis set-up for a R.C. can be very different, but with the majority of the turns in LA being left-handed the set-up will not be that much different from our circle track set-up.

RW: With this being a completely different "road course" than Sears Point does your set up differ from Sears Point to LA?
MR: Night and day.

RW: Since you are not going flat out and turning left, do you need to beef up the transmissions or change the ratios in some of the gears?
MR: The ratios are going to be a guessing game but the drivetrains are about as beefy as we can make them.

RW: How do you set the car up to avoid spinning the tires?
MR: That is for the Crew Chiefs to figure out and that is why they get the big bucks. But seriously the trick will be in the shock package.

RW: At the race last year we saw a lot of the cars were extremely loose coming off the last turn onto the front straight. Will you try to do something to alleviate that this year?
MR: Again I think the team that nails the shock package will be tough to handle, forward bite will be the key.

RW: Would it mean more to win this race than another race the Tour runs? Why or why not?
MR: They are all special to win but I think any time you can win a race that pays this well and has some big name drivers involved it is definitely a little sweeter.

RW: How many spotters will you use at this event?
MR: 2 - 3.

RW: Will you use any additional crew for this race?
MR: Just our normal pit stop crew ( their the best on the SWS!!!!!!!).

RW: Do you have any special plans while in LA?
MR: To win the LA Street Race!!!!!!!!!!!
