JOE BEAN IS ENJOYING THE FRONT

Joe Bean NASCAR Winston West - RacingWest

Joe Bean has been enjoying running upfront and he hopes to see the sights of Rocky Mountain Raceway from the front as well. Bean who drives the No. 77 Glendora Auto Tech Taurus has to be excited with his 6th place standing.

But he is going to have to work at maintaining his position as he has two-time NASCAR Winston West Champion, Bill Sedgwick, just 23 points behind him. And it's a short track, Sedgwicks favorite, but then Bean likes the short tracks too.

Bean is looking for a driver who hasn't won a race this season to take the win at Rocky Mountain. And he feels with his top-notch crew, that driver may just be him!

RW: Have you had a chance to test or drive Rocky Mountain Raceway? If yes, what was your opinion, if no what have you heard about it from others that have raced it?
JB: I heard that it was a nice track. Should make for some great short track racing.

RW: What track do you think RMR will most resemble and will you start off with your set-ups from that track?
JB: We have a basic short track set-up that we adjust with shocks. We have had good runs with that primary set-up.

RW: What are your hopes/expectations for Rocky Mountain Raceway?
JB: Lately our team has been running up front. I would like to see another winner in this division, namely me!! I believe that our team has what it takes to get into the winner's circle.

RW: The Southwest Tour came back from their first event at RMR with nothing but good things to say about the enthusiastic fans and the track promoters. Are you excited to go to an event where they want to see you race that much?
JB: I love to go to tracks that have great fans. The last few tracks, Monroe, Portland and Irwindale have fantastic fans and our series would'nt expect any less from the fans in Utah. We have autographed photo cards for any fans that stay around after the races and visit us in the pits.

RW: This event has TV coverage are you selling this to sponsors?
JB: TV coverage always makes it easier to sell sponsorship. We have had lots of help from our sponsors this year, Rudolph Foods, Mission Foods, PPG Automotive Finishes, CPR Engines, so any TV time would add exposure for these fine companies.

RW: Do you have any sight seeing plans lined up for this trip?
JB: I would love to see Utah. It looks like this is going to be a short trip for our team.
