The Ralphs/Food 4 Less Race Team will have not one but two cars participating in this weekends Gold Coast "150" race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the 12th NASCAR Winston West Series event on the schedule for the 1999 race season. The Ralphs Race Team will highlight their Food 4 Less affiliate company PriceRite on both race cars for this weekends event.

Ralphs drivers Butch and David Gilliland will pilot their #1 and #11 Ralphs red cars around the 1.5 mile oval in hopes of a first and second place finish for the team. This will be the second race of the season at Las Vegas and the first for David. For the first race of the season David manned the position of Crew Chief on his fathers car, but say's he is not going to miss the job this time. "I can't wait to race!", said David. "This will be my second time racing at this track and it should be exciting." The team visited Las Vegas last week for a night time test session with both drivers and left with a successful session under their belt. Both Butch and David spent time on the track nailing down the perfect set up for their cars. "This will be exciting for David and I", said father Butch Gilliland. "The experience on these big tracks will help him for next year."

David and the Ralphs/Food 4 Less Race Team just announced that David would drive the full season next year for the Team in the NASCAR Winston West Series, as he will compete for the "Rookie Of The Year" title in 2000. "Next year we will have a great program", said David. "I think we have a great shot at winning the title of "Rookie of the Year"."

The Gold Coast "150" will be held on Saturday September 25th at 5:30 PST at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The race will consist of 100 laps on the 1.5 mile paved speedway. Driver Butch Gilliland experienced an unfortunate accident at the last event in Vegas which gave him a 29th place finish.
