The JF Motorsports team travels to Phoenix AZ this week to team up with the Lee’s Iron & Metal Chevrolet Monte Carlo, owned by Jack Lee. This will be Jason’s fourth SWT event in 1999, his best finish this year being a 8th at El Cajon in March.
Jack Lee and the team travel from San Diego, Ca, whereas Jason and the JF Motorsports team travel from the Sacramento, Ca area, the two teams conveniently meeting in the "middle" to compete at these various SWT events. "Our two teams have become great friends, and I certainly enjoy driving for Jack", Jason expresses, "we hope to have a long, competitive racing relationship."
Jason Fensler competed in the Shell/Paul Oil Tri Track Series in 1999, taking a 3rd place finish in the points championship, winning 4 of the 11 Main Events, very impressive for the 24 year old from Wilton, Ca. He was the only competitor to win more than one event for the 11 race series.
Jason competed in last years SWT tour event at Phoenix, coming away with a 8th place finish, he hopes to have a great run this year. "Of course we want to win, but to get a top five finish at this track, with the competition the way it is, we would be very pleased with that. We’re going to do our best to move to the front."
Plans for the Year 2000? The JF Motorsports team is still looking into their options for the next race season. "We’re looking into some leads back East, or even some more West Coast competitions, its still early, we just know we will be as competitive next year as we were in 1999."
