The Meaning Of Prayer

Prayer is nothing more than talking to God. The conversation is the same as talking to another person. How you talk depends on your relationship. When we pray we should realize that we are talking to God, the one who created the universe, but he can also be our best friend. When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray, He taught them the Lord's prayer.

Dick Varder has been involved in racing for years. He has wrenched on dragsters, raced motorcycles, raced boats but for the past several years he has been involved in racing in a different way. Varder serves as a Chaplain for MRO. He travels the Winston West circuit to be there for the drivers, crew and families of the racers. Here in the picture above Varder prays for the safety of a driver before the start of the race at the California Speedway in Fontana.
