AUSTIN CAMERON WINS RACE; MIKE DUNCAN WINS CHAMPIONSHIP

While Austin Cameron won the NAPA 150 on Saturday night at Irwindale Speedway, Mike Duncan was able to clinch the NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series 2004 championship with a ninth-place finish.

Duncan, who came 14 points shy of the title a year ago, secured this year's championship by 16 points over Cameron.

Defending series champion Scott Lynch, who started from the Bud Pole, swapped the lead with Johnny Borneman through the midway point of the race. Lynch faded, however, in the second half of the race and Borneman was sidelined by overheating.

Cameron took command on lap 87 and paced the field to the finish. Dale Quarterly - a regular in the NASCAR Grand National Division, Busch North Series - finished a close second. Brett Thompson was third, followed by David Gilliland and Scott Gaylord
