Steve Francis, driver of the #15 Valvoline and Mopar sponsored Freeport Recycling Centers Moring Motorsports Action Auto Mart Rocket Dodge, wrapped up the 2004 World of Outlaws Late Model Series season in 2nd place in the World of Outlaws Late Model Series championship point standings. This is Francis’ 11th consecutive top-5 national championship points finish in dirt late model racing.
Francis and the Mopar and Valvoline crew traveled to Tunica, MS this past weekend for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series season ending events at Delta Bowl Speedway.
Steve started the weekend off by setting fast time, winning the first heat race and dash race, and rounded out the night by finishing 3rd. The Kentucky Colonel capped off the season by finishing 2nd on the final night of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series season.
Steve’s last event of the 2004 season will be this weekend, November 5-7, at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL.
“I would like to thank all the fans, media, and especially, Mopar, Valvoline, and Moring Motorsports for all their support this season,” says Francis. “We had a good season, and we are looking forward to next season and competing for another championship.”
Steve will be competing in Australia this December as a member of Team USA as he competes against the best dirt drivers ‘down under’. Forthcoming schedule information will be released at www.stevefrancisracing.com in the coming weeks.
