The purse is comprised of 50 percent of the entry fees for participants in the event plus an additional $20,000 that has been designated for the purse. Prize money for the 2004 event was $30,000.

“The fact that the Board Members of the Falken Tire Pikes Peak International Hill Climb unanimously voted to increase the purse to a minimum of $36,000 just adds more excitement to this year’s event,” stated Mike Cimino, President of the Board of Directors.

Cimino added, “The board is committed to enhancing the quality of this event by increasing funding for the prize money and the marketing of the event.”
