BAKERSFIELD, California -- Mesa Marin Raceway proudly announces another major event added to its 2005 racing schedule. On Saturday May 14th, Mesa Marin will bring together the two-premier Late Model touring series on the west coast, by presenting both the NASCAR AutoZone Southwest Series and the SRL Wild West Late Model Series.
“Separately these two series stand on their own as headliners, so bringing them together on the same race night should be an awesome show for our race fans,” stated Mesa Marin Vice President, Larry Collins.
Mesa Marin Raceway will host the NASCAR AutoZone Southwest Series a total of three times in 2005, more than any other track on the circuit and the SRL Wild West Late Model Series on two occasions. The Southwest Series and S R L will compete in separate 100 lap main events on May 14th.
“The Southwest Series and the S R L Late Model series are two of the most competitive stock car series anywhere and they both put on outstanding shows when they compete at Mesa Marin.” Collins added.
2004 winners of the NASCAR AutoZone Southwest Series events at Mesa Marin were Craig Raudman and David Gilliland. Raudman and Mike Mason were the winners of the 2004 SRL Wild West Late Model Series events at Mesa Marin.
Mesa Marin will open its 28th season on Saturday night, April 2nd with the NASCAR Late Model – Twin main events, the Crystal Pools Street Stock Series and the 911 Race for Youth Series.
